Was Jesus the First Republican?

Sure he was. He created individual liberty on earth. He was a powerful common man who liberated other* common men from earthly* liberal rulers such as* Caesar. He taught that each individual person was loved by God and had an individual relationship with God that was based on his free will and individual behavior toward other people and toward God.. This was opposite to liberal statist Rome wherein all human beings on earth were the same. They were mere animals* to be defeated militarily, captured, enslaved, raped, killed or taxed. The transformational liberty Jesus created on earth slowly gave birth to Christianity, the Reformation, Enlightenment, and finally the American Revolution. To this day Republicans stand to limit Caesarian liberal statist govt and maintain or* increase liberty , while Democrats oppose this basic trajectory of Western Civilization every step of the way!**

He created liberty? What a quaintly delusional assertion.

No. Jesus' kingdom was/is not on Earth. He wasn't a political figure.

Jesus was a socialist, if anything.

I don't know how this thread makes me feel...

Whatever you may believe Jesus teachings mean for the afterlife, he certainly didn’t “create individual liberty here on earth.” There were already free people back then. And in the immortal words of Jesus’ very own disciple:

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Christ was a monarchist. He advocated support for the rule of Caesar (Romans 13:1 and Matthew 22:21), and will one day establish his own kingdom.

but he taught us how to behave on earth!

No...Jesus was apolitical. Anytime someone tried to corner him he would basically not get involved. You could almost say he was a status quo type.

Nah...he wasn't for using force to take money away from people and literally left it all up to them what they wanted to give or not.

no he cut Caesar in half by saying give to Caesar what is his to God what is his. This was a huge an attack on the liberal statist central govt

Socialism isn't necessarily authoritarian in nature.

Although I'm recalling that bit about the "Cleansing of the Temple" thing, which in a way is authoritarian.

And it's all a matter of perspective and context.

We agree as a society on things we don't want people to do, does that make us an authoritarian society?

wrong he said give to Caesar and to God thus he was extremely political and later took over Romans Empire

No, it wasn't. It was an acknowledgement of Caesar's divine right to rule. As Christ said in Romans 13:1 "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."

sure it is to own and manage the commanding heights or major industries you must be authoritarian.

Therefore he's a Republican? LOL! Oh my.

no a Republican because he created the individual as Jefferson did while liberals oppose this concept. Now do you understand?

if so Jesus would not have cut his power in half by requiring God to get half. It was a huge revolution.

totally out of context as if God didn't exist when he was obviously the creator with a great deal of authority and management over daily affairs and ultimate outcomes on earth

No, Jesus was a Theocrat...
