I was not aware of either of these things and I had considered myself a relatively decent history buff, fascinating stuff, I even downloaded a PDF of the Voynich manuscript to have a look over and it's really something else, videos about 15 minutes, if you have the time it's pretty damned interesting stuff.

I've heard about the Antikythera mechanism but not the Voynich manuscript. It's very interesting. I'm going with the theory that it's a natural language and that it's some sort of book about women's health and remedies. But I don't think we'll ever know for sure.
 
I read about the Voynich thingy when I was doing research awhile back, and to me it seems to be just a work of fiction, like a medieval LOTR. Probably done by some scribe or noble with too much time on his hands.
