Confederate Statues Were Built To Further A 'White Supremacist Future'

What was erased was the vivid memory of those that had fervently supported the King.

The vivid memory of anybody who can remember the Civil War is long dead and buried.

What about him?

He's a historical hero of the Civil War, where's his monuments? 17 confederate monuments have been erected since GWB was president. (not counting Trump's fake battle) How historical is that?

What heroic feat is he responsible for?

Where are all the monuments to THIS guy?

Surprisingly, that is a good point. Perhaps rather than tear down existing monuments we build new ones next to the old ones.

Confederate Statues Were Built To Further A 'White Supremacist Future'

An informative read regarding the when, the why, and the where of erecting Confederate statues.

Let me presume that what you say is true. Now, let us look at the opposite side of that argument:

Statues went up in probably most, if not all states, honoring black people during times of racial strife. The most notable was Martin Luther King, Jr. His FBI files were so damning that a judge ordered them sealed for 50 years. There were other monuments and statues erected honoring blacks. There were even stamps commissioned by the Post Office to honor blacks.

During these times of racial discord, we have witnessed the removal of white names on street and road signs; schools and government buildings are renamed to honor black people. The government is even taking the faces of white people off the currency. They removed the Confederate flags as that was controversial and now, rather than move forward, another fight was started for what, on the surface, appears to be a slam dunk for the left. We'll get rid of all the symbols of the Confederacy. That was a freaking lie:

Just a couple of days ago, in Maryland, they took down the statue of Roger Taney. Taney was the fifth U.S. Supreme Court Justice to serve on the bench. It sure as hell didn't have anything to do with the Confederacy because Taney died in 1864. So, why him?

In 1857 the United States Supreme Court ruled that blacks could not become citizens. Taney delivered the majority opinion. According to Wikipedia:

"Taney spent pages 407–421 of his decision chronicling the history of slave and negro law in the British colonies and American states to decide if federal law could recognize Scott as a citizen of any state within the meaning of Article III. Relying upon statements made by Charles Pinckney, who had claimed authorship of the Privileges and Immunities Clause during the debates over the Missouri Compromise,[25] Taney decided: "the affirmative of these propositions cannot be maintained."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dred_Scott_v._Sandford

Taney did not legislate from the bench. He interpreted the law according to the facts and the law at that time. There is no evidence that has ever been entered that Taney was ever a racist. The real deal is that everything from America's past must be destroyed in order for the black leadership to be happy.

Now, once they have won the current battles, they will have to wage a war against the American flag. It was flying over the White House when the Dred Scott decision was handed down. The liberals, who finance and promote the war were the same people responsible for waging wars against the family, promoting gay rights, taking down nativity scenes, getting rid of the Ten Commandments at our courthouses, and pushing affirmative action / racial quotas / preferential hiring schemes / reverse discrimination.

Today, the change is all but complete. When the liberals, blacks, antifa, etc. factions have prevailed in their current wars then go for the flag, the last stop will be to remove the last symbol they find repulsive: the white people. The war is a subtle form of genocide against white people, but a war nonetheless.

Most Confederate statues/monuments were erected during the early 1900s when the discriminatory Jim Crow laws were being enacted. Probably 95% of all CSA memorials are located south of the Mason-Dixon line.

Thirty two confederate monuments in the last 17 years already. Three in the Union state of OHIO!

Here is the context. Try to maintain it:

1. Left the US, renounced citizenship.
2. Formed a foreign country.
3. Tried to destroy the US as foreign soldiers.
4. A monument for that.

Also known as Confederates. I know, Confederate is a big word, but you're gonna have to remember it to maintain context.

So it's your contention that the confederacy started the war?

It's my contention that the Confederate States left the US, formed their own country and, as foreign soldiers, tried to destroy the United States.

They were not Americans. They were foreigners. They were against us.

Rename US Army Bases for Heroes, not ConfederatesOur soldiers should walk through gates that honor those who fought for the United States, not against it......
Not so sure. The millions and millions and millions of soldiers that have trained at these base have offset the bad image so very long ago.

Why change the name of Fort Hood, when so much good for America has come from there since 1941.

Nero fiddled while Rome burned.

You ain't gonna race war Chicken Little me. I'm not a moron. Take that BS to your inbred uneducated hillbilly idiots at the "compound".

Well, I'd never be a scumbag traitor. But if I was, I hope I'd at least have the integrity to take the bullet I deserve and spare the country my shame.

Is secession not a states right? The ultimate states right?

Anyone from the Americas are Americans. You don't hear Germans claiming to be the only Europeans or Nigerians claiming to be the only Africans.

You might argue the Confederacy were no longer made up of United Statesians. Maybe.

Who is this "us" anyways? Didn't the Confederacy have some Amerindian nations siding with them? I can't remember. I know some Black-Americans fought for the Confederacy. Maybe the Union had a racially integrated military then... long before what was it... the Vietnam War?

You must be joking. The Confederacy was a foreign nation with foreign soldiers. They were not Americans meaning of the United States of America. They were enemies of America and tried to destroy the US.

Us is the United States. You know, our country. The one traitorous scum tried to destroy after leaving our country.

In other words, most of the monuments are more than 100 years old. Tearing them down only soothes liberal angst and guilt. And only temporarily.
And The World War II monument in Washington (oops, can I still say that word?) DC was erected nearly 70 years after the end of that conflict.

How many black children have you schooled in your home?

Troll post rejected.

In my former more globalist days I was a supporter of the European Union (EU) because they were modeled of the the United States of America. Essentially the EU was an is a sort of United States of Europe.

Bearing in mind many European countries could fit inside entire states of the USA.

The Governors of every state are essentially Presidents of their states. Each state also has its own constitution and supreme court etc.

While people still identify heavily with their state today they seem to have done so far more back in the 1800s.

Maybe Confederates were traitors or maybe they weren't and just stupid and wicked enough to defend brutal, soul crushing slavery in the South. But which ever it is I don't really care. I'm from the North and have never been as emotionally connected to the Civil War as many white Southerners have. And Democrats or Republicans aren't about to trick me into thinking I have to go bat crazy over those statues down South. Maybe they should come down. But if that is the case they should have came down when Bill Clinton was in office, when Obama first got elected, and maybe it should have been the most important thing Hillary ran her campaign for the Presidency on? Interesting I thought a few minutes ago Russia and Putin were the greatest existential threat to the United States, now all of a sudden its these damned statues. Why the hell didn't people pull them down in 1980 then? All of a sudden when Trump is in office they must come down or what... there won't be any air in the US to breathe?

Maybe left wing scientist should connect those statues to Climate Change? Might help enrage more on the left.
