Nursing home in Michigan lockdown unaware of elderly patient beating until viral video surfaced on Twitter

Police said a nursing home under strict Michigan coronavirus lockdown measures was unaware of an attack on an elderly patient until a viral video surfaced on Twitter, which prompted a response from Donald Trump.
"Is this even possible to believe? Can this be real?" the president wrote. "Where is this nursing home, how is the victim doing?"

The guy inn this video was also a patient that was some how allowed to stay in the nursing facility for rehab supposedly. This nursing home abuse goes on far more than you think, and I think even murder here and there if a pissed off worker thinks they can get away with it. If you have any loved ones in a nursing home PLEASE get them a hidden camera and watch for the signs. These pretend predators see someone with zero defense and zero loved ones around them and know they can get away with it. I included the race of the criminal and victim because that seems to be what the news does now.

Seems like they could've found a better place to stick him than a nursing home for old people.

The article title doesn't go out of its way to mention that he was black. Why did you?

There are bad actors in any number of nursing homes, of all sexes and races. If anything standards need to be tightened.

Just in our paper this morning way I see in my town a guy killed his neighbor with a frying pan and on the same page the SWAT team had to rescue a father from his 34 year old son high on methamphetamine and naked and threatening his father with a knife.

Yes , we are truly "All In This Together".

Must have some kind of deal with a hospital or maybe drug detox clinic where they offer any extra space temporarily (for pay) or something at least vaguely like it...

My guess is the boss/owner is trying to make money any way he can with 1 facility. Meanwhile we ALL know why mixing 20 year old rehab patients and nursing home functions is a horrible, horrible idea. I mean really they should be sued up the ass for mixing rehab criminals with nursing home functions in the same room.

There's is a great deal of overlap in these facilities since they typically have the same occupational, physical, and speech therapy facilities.

They put patients where they fit, based on their coverage and other factors.

Rehab in this context doesn't necessarily mean drug abuse.

If that was the case, or if there was some other reason they could have reasonably expected him to attack others, then yeah the lawsuit is likely to be painful.
