Chinese deaths (3,217) account for half of the worldwide total. If you add Italy (1,441) and Iran (724), two countries where many Chinese were allowed in until recently, that totals another 2,165. In other words, outside of China, Italy and Iran — with 5,382 deaths collectively — 1,018 people have died. There are 7.8 billion people in the world.

Regarding Italy, the Jerusalem Post of March 16 reported that according to Nobel Prize-winning chemist Michael Levitt, “Italy’s higher death rate was likely due to the fact that elderly people make up a greater percentage of the population than they do in other countries such as China or France.” As former CBS correspondent Sharyl Attkisson further explained: “Italy has the oldest population in Europe and more elderly per capita than the U.S. Most of the Italian deaths are in patients in their 80s and 90s. In addition, Italy has a great number of direct China contacts. Italy was the first to join China’s ‘silk road’ economic partnership project … (Italy’s) deaths are out of a population of 60 million people.”

I'm not stopping with the first two paragraphs. I'm stopping with your first two sentences.

You are actively spreading disinformation on this website, Robert. If people follow your stupid advice, some of them will literally die. Literally die.

But you know what the ironic twist of this is? There's a grain of truth in the first two paragraphs that you quoted (OK fine, I did skim them): Older people are much more vulnerable than young people are to dying.

Guess which age group trends Republican and guess which age group trends Democratic? :)

Oh, wait, it gets even worse for you. Before the COVID-19 outbreak began here, Florida was leaning Republican. Guess which state has a LOT of old voters there? ;) If Florida goes blue, the election is as good as ours!

How ironic it would be if the very advice that we sensible people are trying to give you, you ignored, and it killed off the very voters that you needed to hold the White House.

LET ME BE CRYSTAL CLEAR THAT I DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN. Anyone who suggests otherwise is deliberately and intentionally telling a bald-faced lie, just like the opening post is a bald-faced lie. I want to win the election WITHOUT mass die-offs. BUT, if your ilk is going to war with Mother Nature, then you will lose. And the body count will be high. Like, six-digits high. Yes, I'm calling it now. Mostly old folks!

Meanwhile, nearly all the young people are going to be just fine. And they will vote blue. :)

Trump called the virus a hoax and that it wasn't a big deal at all. He has done a complete 180 on that over the past week. So either he was lying then or he's lying now. You don't get to call a liar honest without being challenged on it.

And no, I'm not going to read a blog you liked if you're unwilling to explain your position yourself. If you have a point, make it using your own words and brain.

Dennis Prager is an idiot or a shameless hack.

Essentially, the argument is - "if you ignore the actual deaths in the hardest hit countries, there are an insignificant number of deaths at this point, and I'll ignore that several countries are on the same glidepath as Italy, just a week or so behind them. THE CHINESE!!!"

Dear Bob, Dennis is a dangerous idiot. When he says:

We have no idea how many people carry the COVID-19 coronavirus. Therefore, the rates of either critical illness or death are completely unknown.

He is lying. We know how many confirmed cases there are. We know this is not an absolute total, there are MANY cases not reported, therefore it is worse than reported. And we know, just from the confirmed cases, what decreases new cases most effectively, that is social distancing:

The graph above is informative. I will note that infections does not mean all or even most died. We have all recovered from the flu. What we did not encounter then was this rage coming from Democrats who constantly blame Trump and of course never China.

Can any Democrats point to an actual mistake made by Prager? Calling Dennis names is unproductive.

Here are the facts.

Trump referred to “politicizing” of the coronavirus by Democrats as “their new hoax.” He did not refer to the coronavirus itself as a hoax.

Throughout his speech, Trump reiterated that his administration is taking the threat of the coronavirus seriously.

Fact Check:

Politico appears to misconstrue the subject of the president’s statement, claiming that Trump “tried to cast the global outbreak of the coronavirus as a liberal conspiracy intended to undermine his first term.”

But an examination of the video and transcript show Trump actually described Democratic complaints about his handling of the virus threat as “their new hoax.”

“We have exposed the far left’s corruption and defeated their sinister schemes and let’s see what happens in the coming months,” Trump said. “Let’s watch. Let’s just watch. Very dishonest people. Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus, you know that right? Coronavirus, they’re politicizing it.”

The novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, has spread from China to 53 other countries, sickening 85,403 people and killing 2,924 others as of Saturday, according to the World Health Organization.

Some Democrats, including former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Vice President Joe Biden, have criticized the administration’s response to the outbreak as rudderless and ill-prepared due to Trump’s leadership and budget cuts at the Centers for Disease Control and National Institutes of Health.

But The Associated Press called this characterization “distorted” since the agencies haven’t seen loss of funding and have a “playbook to follow for pandemic preparation” regardless of who is president.

Trump described the “politicizing” of the White House’s response to the disease as an attempt to undermine his administration, likening it to Democrats’ impeachment drive and the Russia investigation.

“They tried anything,” said Trump about a minute after his first mention of the coronavirus. “They tried it over and over. They’d been doing it since you got in. It’s all turning. They lost. It’s all turning. Think of it. Think of it. And this is their new hoax.”

When looking at the entirety of Trump’s remarks, it appears the “new hoax” comment refers to the Democrats’ alleged “politicizing” of his response to the coronavirus threat—not the coronavirus itself.

Even if one accepts his arguments, they speak to a failure of leadership both leading up to the crises and now.

Now Trump acted too late :roll: When Trump did ban flights from China, your side protested and called it racist. Its a good thing we didnt have a democrat president because the flights would never have been halted.

Democrats lashed out when Trump curtailed the exposure from China.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump announced a ban on flights from China on Jan. 31 — for which he was denounced by leading Democrats and throughout the left. The very next day, presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden declared, “This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria and xenophobia — hysterical xenophobia — and fearmongering.” On Feb. 2, the American Civil Liberties Union announced, “These measures are extraordinary incursions on liberty and fly in the face of considerable evidence that travel bans and quarantines can do more harm than good.”

Who protested and called it racist? We've seen this claim about 1,000 times now and no one quotes anyone actually saying this. WEIRD!!

I've asked many people for a quote with a name without luck. Maybe you'll be the first!

If there was any opposition, it was mild at worst/best and came from a handful of people, and in almost all cases cited the evidence that travel bans aren't effective in preventing a spread, especially partial ones like with China, while we allowed travel from nearly all other countries, and that was correct, as we now know.

But by all means keep repeating the lie that "Democrats" as a group called him a "RACIST!!!!@!" for the flight ban. Heck, I looked and didn't find anyone on DP saying that, much less any Democrat whose name anyone would recognize, anyone elected to office.
