Health care is way too expensive in America and the cost just keep rising.

Righties just want to make arguments why it won't work. That insurance and big pharma lobby means a lot of money to those politicians

I am sure everyone in health care can continue to make money on medicare reimbursements. They may have to become more efficient.

Might cut into profits for the HMO's but they will make it up with fraud like our great governor Rick Scott

About time we stopped the gravy train for Big Pharma. Why should Americans pay more.for drugs than the rest of.the world

The rightie argument that the hospitals can't make it on medicare payments is just more rightie BS!

Please provide a reference to a detailed plan of payment systems to provide low paying patients with more efficient care, to match their payments.

Dude..just so you know.. you are the one that's oversimplified. Not me.

Pooh.. the surgical technique for a total knee hasn't changed that dramatically over the last thirty years. Basically its only gotten faster with things like GPS guidance..

which.. by the way is in response to declining reimbursement so that surgeons need to do more cases per surgical day.

But yes.. small hospitals have to maintain lots of overhead and being smaller and having less volume this decreases their efficiency.

And yes..the capital investment required to stay in business requires more revenue than available in a rural hospital even if they have all private insurance patients. BUT THATS ONLY BECAUSE PRIVATE INSURANCE PATIENTS HAVE ALMOST ALWAYS BEEN A SMALLER PORTION OF AVAILABLE PATIENTS. Rural hospitals did well because we had private pay patients which paid better.. and we had medicare which paid better... and we filled in capacity with Medicaid patients. Now.. because of aging populations.. we have more demand.. but they are medicare.. and with medicare paying less..its a big hit..the same with Medicaid. Particuarly when reimbursement from medicare or Medicaid..may actually be LESS than the cost of the care
So we should put you down as supporting putting GPS trackers in everyone to "save lives"?

Its not a "rightie" argument that rural hospitals cannot make it on medicare payments. Its a simple economic fact. They have been closing currently.
