Seriously..you go in with a cold...and I come in later after a car wreck with massive chest and head injuries? I am not waiting on you. You.. will be very much back in the line.
If the ER rooms are full...they're full. You might have to wait on others even if your issue is more serious.

When people get sick, they need medical treatment. It's not reasonable to expect them not to go in and get it just because they don't have health insurance.

Not really. Like I said.. ER triages you.

You come in with an acute appendicitis.. and could die... you are not waiting while they evaluate the kid with the hovering mother who is worried he has the sniffles.

That being said... some serious conditions can mask themselves as less serious problems. And if an ER is being inundated with non serious cases.... it may take away from the differential diagnostic time.

The real issue of ER care is this. The real savings here is not in stopping people with colds from going to the ER.

The real savings is getting people with non serious conditions.. to be seen by practitioners..early.. so they do not end up with a serious condition that could have been prevented.
So we should put you down as supporting putting GPS trackers in everyone to "save lives"?

Yes...but if they are *already* busy treating someone with a cold when you walk into the ER, they will not be immediately available. You are better off if there's no one ahead of you.

How is your party trying to get people to be seen early before they develop a serious condition?

    Yep

A urgent care is much cheaper to treat a cold than tying up an emergency room.

Treating common conditions that can turn cronic before they turn into a life threatening condition is much cheaper than the intensive care unit of a hospital

Lots of good financial reasons for well care for all.

Treatment is not immediately available anyway if you walk into an ER.. because you will have to be triaged. Just like any other walk ins. Once you get triaged..and you are placed at the head of the line..you get treated.

If you are already triaged en route.. for example.. you are in the ambulance on the way to the ER.. then someone will be available for you to be treated.

My party? Meaning republican? They are not.

But that has no bearing on the facts I presented.
