Republicans can't deal with medical care.

Its kind of the nature of the beast that I wait behind people that are sick... in an ER.. you are triaged.. in other words.. those that are the sickest.. get helped first.

What if they're already busy helping those who are less sick than you with problems that could have been taken care of at a doctor's office?

Again...they are triaged..and if they are just sick.. then they are really "not that busy helping others"...

Seriously..you go in with a cold...and I come in later after a car wreck with massive chest and head injuries? I am not waiting on you. You.. will be very much back in the line.

But.. yes.. its annoying and inefficient for people with colds to go to the ER. But as pointed out.. its really not a cost issue. the actual cost in time, etc.. is the same.. you have to have a receptionist, a nurse, a pa or doctor.. see you whether in the ER or in the doctors office. (your bill won't reflect that however)...but the actual patient cost is the same.

Republicans have no clue how to govern. THis is an issue in which people's lives are truly at stake. That's why even members of their own party can't vote against it now.

It's over.

The liberals won this issue.

Move on and accept defeat.

I own several healthcare systems.. from hospitals to SNF's and long term care.

So, you're very informed about the private system, likely uninformed about public options, and very biased for private systems for your own financial interests, is that correct?

If the ER rooms are full...they're full. You might have to wait on others even if your issue is more serious.

When people get sick, they need medical treatment. It's not reasonable to expect them not to go in and get it just because they don't have health insurance.

Not really. Like I said.. ER triages you.

You come in with an acute appendicitis.. and could die... you are not waiting while they evaluate the kid with the hovering mother who is worried he has the sniffles.

That being said... some serious conditions can mask themselves as less serious problems. And if an ER is being inundated with non serious cases.... it may take away from the differential diagnostic time.

The real issue of ER care is this. The real savings here is not in stopping people with colds from going to the ER.

The real savings is getting people with non serious conditions.. to be seen by practitioners..early.. so they do not end up with a serious condition that could have been prevented.

Yes...but if they are *already* busy treating someone with a cold when you walk into the ER, they will not be immediately available. You are better off if there's no one ahead of you.

How is your party trying to get people to be seen early before they develop a serious condition?

Yep

A urgent care is much cheaper to treat a cold than tying up an emergency room.

Treating common conditions that can turn cronic before they turn into a life threatening condition is much cheaper than the intensive care unit of a hospital

Lots of good financial reasons for well care for all.

Treatment is not immediately available anyway if you walk into an ER.. because you will have to be triaged. Just like any other walk ins. Once you get triaged..and you are placed at the head of the line..you get treated.

If you are already triaged en route.. for example.. you are in the ambulance on the way to the ER.. then someone will be available for you to be treated.

My party? Meaning republican? They are not.

But that has no bearing on the facts I presented.
