Initial non-CBO healthcare analysts say 28-32 million Americans will lose healthcare coverage under the Graham-Cassidy bill. A preliminary CBO analysis will supposedly be released early next week.

Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel says Sen. Bill Cassidy lied to his face while claiming his Graham-Cassidy healthcare bill passes the mutually agreed upon Kimmel test....

The Republicans haven't learned the when the stove is hot you remove your hand rule

Tonight's monologue:

Republican responses have been pathetic.

Jimmy Kimmel makes $12 million a year. **** his opinion.

So you only love the rich and take them seriously if they take your political side, hmm?

The very fact that he is a millionaire and never has to worry about healthcare coverage for him and his kids is part of what makes his statement so powerful.

Kimmel will never stand in line for government health insurance.

The fact that he is a millionaire is exactly why his opinion is absolute ****.

I understand why he's using his show as a bully pulpit. Do I appreciate the increasing politicization of late-night talk shows? No. Do I agree with Kimmel's political viewpoint? No. But I understand perfectly the pathos of his appeal and think his heart is in the right place.

Kimmel's full ****. He hasn't even read the bill.

Kimmel obviously understands it well enough to nail Cassidy publicly over his lies about covering preexisting conditions, lifetime caps, etc.

So trump, as a billionaire, his opinion is some kind of super-****?

I think Congress and the Executive Branch should be required by law to participate in this healthcare plan.

so, you make about what $20K a year & that means your opinion is any more, or less valid?

Yes...it is. Kimmel isn't ever going to be affected by some ****ed up government insurance law. I will. You're damn right my opinion is more valid.

Mandates will be dictated by your state, so you can kiss the Federal/ACA 10 essential-health-benefits mandate goodbye. Preexisting conditions need not apply. You'll also have an arbitrary lifetime-cap on benefits.

Since 34 states will be receiving less money under the Cassidy-Graham block-grants, the corresponding piece of your healthcare pie will shrink accordingly. No mandated prescription drug coverage.

Better pray you and yours never need radiation treatments, or cardio surgery, or weekly dialysis, or nuclear imaging, or rehabilitative care, or....

btw... Federal funding (block-grants) for Louisiana will be cut 13% between 2020-2027 for a loss of $14 billion healthcare dollars to your state.

You said in the other thread that if Senators can't articulate the good that Graham-Cassidy does, then they should vote no. Did you change your mind already?

In case you can't do the napkin math apdst, that is a loss of $1,500 in healthcare dollars per year for every person in Louisiana.

How will all those people lose their health care?

Hell no. I'm not defending the bill.

Kimmel is trashing the bill because he supports Obamacare.

Louisiana has the best charity hospital system in the country. So what?

Do you even know what he was arguing? He simply wanted assurance that those with pre-existing conditions will not be denied coverage. That is a long way from "government health insurance."

Ok guys critical of Kimmel: he's just realizing that the political parties should stick to their skill-sets. GOP is good at blowing up things overseas and putting people in jail at home, but terrible at social policy. When you democrats try that stuff, especially recently, they screw up. Look at Vietnam and Hillary's super-predator stuff. Democrats are good at things like healthcare, immigration, etc. Have the GOP set up hearings on the ACA to correct or change what needs changing. Democrats will go along, even Obama says it's not perfect.

Lol. You'll need to raise an additional $4 billion just to just to tread water. Good luck with that.
