Anyone else thinks John McCain's cancer influenced his healthcare vote? This guy was one of the biggest critics of Obama in 2008 and was outspokenly against Obamacare. I am not trying to be disrespectful however the timing seems more than a coincidence.

McCain is anti-Trump. His only allegiance is, and generally has been, to whatever position he thinks will get him elected.

Wow, even a man of exceptional integrity gets thrown under the "not a real republican, self-serving scoundrel" bus by Trump fans.

Maybe McCain listened to the people and voted the way most Americans wanted? As for his cancer, who knows?

The Republican healthcare bill is the least popular major bill in decades

Poll: AHCA less popular than Obamacare - Business Insider

I would think McCain being a senator back in 2010 knew what happened that year after the Democrats passed another very unpopular bill known as the ACA against most Americans wishes. There are times when it doesn't pay to go against most Americans, they can bite back in the next election.

He sounds like a politician, sounds just like Trump during the campaign trying to get elected.

However, Lutherf, McCain is dying. There are no more election for Big John. The vote was a dagger at Trump and McCain, the first for dissing veterans and the second for opposing McCain-Feingold.

I developed that opinion of McCain well before Trump came on the scene. In 2012 his people cut the legs out from a local candidate I was supporting and handed information to the Democrat opponent. In 2010 I ran into him at a local event and he was the least hospitable, most self absorbed asshole in the room. Unless you were handing him very large checks he wouldn't even look your way. His office flat out refused to listen or respond to constituents regarding the 2009 coup in Honduras. Giffords office at least replied.

McCain's people control roughly 75% of the GOP funding in the state and have abandoned southern AZ to Raul Grijalva. They won't support any candidate that opposes the walrus or the Pima County Democrats.

Oh bull****, McCain has been disliked by conservatives, as an establishment hack, for many years.

Sheriff Joe was the establishment hack, and now is hacking out his lungs waiting for Trump to pardon, which is not going to happen.

There was a time when I considered John McCain too conservative. My main reason for not voting for him in 2008. Times have surely changed.
The fact is the Health Care Bill sucked. You don't need to be affected by brain cancer to know that.

Maybe his vote had something to do with the GOP's legislation being absolute garbage. Just a guess.

Nope, he voted no because it was a terrible bill that skinny repeal. Congress is supposed to make good laws, not pass laws for political reasons/political sake.

Obamacare ACA, with all it's flaws was a real and comprehensive bill, that fake skinny repeal bill was just horrendously bad, it contained no real law at all.
