Obamacare is not working for millions of U.S.

Thats what the Expanded Medicaid Program was for....hellooooooo....

The feds don't have a right to increase state expenses against their will.

Against their will??? The States had a choice and several chose not to take it.

QUESTION: What good is Health Care if we cannot afford the Premiums, Deductibles, or our Co-pays[/url]

Premium subsidies are available in the marketplaces for those below 400% of the poverty threshold, and subsidies to lower deductibles and copays are available to those below 250%.

That's why there are subsidies and expanded Medicaid.
The feds don't have a right to increase state expenses against their will.
The federal government was paying 100% of the cost to care for states that expanded Medicaid. 19 states choice to be partisan a-holes instead of helping their citizens.

By health care, do you mean health insurance?

Insurance is usually purchased with the intention of protecting assets from large financial losses. If you can't afford a single year's health insurance deductible, why bother paying the premiums? What are you trying to protect?

So you would like a single payer healthcare system and heavy governmental regulation of pricing in medical care? Because otherwise it doesn't matter what insurance laws are, you still have to deal with the fact that it costs between $4000 and 10000 annual on average to care for a non retired American depending on their age. How can an insurance company make money providing insurance to people if they don't charge an each patient a little more than the average cost of care?

And even if there was no private sector insurance company making money, the cost of care would still be enough to be a problem.

Initially, yes, but single payer health insurance gives the payer much more bargaining power to negotiate lower costs, removes the one of the triple layered incentives to make profit from the drug/supply makers, insurers, and health systems, and also reduces the need for the 20% of healthcare dollars we spend on administrative functions to deal with the needs of recouping costs from multiple source of payment in a complex system. This is the real rationale for a single payer healthcare system, not so much that healthcare is a right. Its simply a better system to meet the needs of providing for a public good than a for profit system with thousands of individual actors vying for a piece of the pie. Every system has its challenges as you can see from the experience of other countries, but only one system leaves 5-10% of its population without any access to healthcare and raises costs to double the rest of the world while also providing worse outcomes.

I think you make a strong case.

While the ACA (Obamacare) isn't perfect, the GOP alternatives have higher premiums, deductibles and co-pays. CBO estimate of the ACA deductible for someone making $26,500 in 2026: $800. The same people under the Senate plan: $13,000, a 1,525% increase.

So, if you hate the ACA because you think the premiums, deductibles and co-pays are too high, you should know that the Republicans do nothing to help that situation.

Even then there are those who fall between the cracks...make too much for Medicaid and not enough to afford the premiums...I am one of them...thank goodness I'll be eligible for Medicare next year...

Partly as a result of tax credits 77% of Americans on Obamacare pay less than $100 a month in premiums.

And the deductibles are sky high so what good is it?

Hey...me too. :)

The cracks you mentioned just needed some tweaking...and they certainly don't need to repeal the entire ACA just to do that.

American society has decided to keep many in a constant state of poverty, it's just who we are.

Australia - where McDonalds workers earn $15 an hour | ZDNet

We've decided to do the same with healthcare, the rest of the advanced post industrial world has left us far, far behind in terms of healthcare. Intentionally. Even dumbass Don praised Austrialia's single payer system.

Your post is ignorant go do your homework before you post again

You are the one who is ignorant unless you consider 6-7 thousand or more reasonable...that is what mine is...

If you were offered a $1,000 deductible policy for $1,000 a month and $14,000 out of pocket max, or a $10,000 deductible policy for $100 a month and $14,000 out of pocket max, which is the better policy?
