The US Government has a less than stellar record when they involve themselves in prett much any issue.
In my opinion there are a number of roadblocks to a viable Health Care for the American people.
In no specific order:
1) For profit health care providers ex: hospitals, clinics
2) Health care equipment manufacturers
3) Pharmaceutical companies
4) Medical lobbyists
5) For profit insurance underwriters
A) Merging of the above
6) Unhealthy lifestyle of a high percentage of those wanting healthcare
7) Malpractice insurance that has medical personnel performing tests to CYA
8) Unrealistic healthcare costs during the last weeks or months of patients life
I do not claim that the above list is in any way complete, just what I came up with on the spur....
