How and why did things change?

Health insurance as I have known it, was what I was paying for, for years, and then when ACA hit, it changed to affordable care for everyone?

For years the US health system was based as an "Insurance" system, this system is completely different, financially, and qualifying etc.

Now, its become a more "universal" health care system, where basically everyone gets it, without regards to the financial system, nor quality control/qualifying controls.

While the Universal system/ACA system is great for "Everyone" the system was never built on it......It was never meant to sustain a universal system when it was initially design as an Insurance system.

How and why this is not discussed, this is not prioritized. I just dont get it...... ACA is great....Universal Care is great... SURE...... but if the basis system/program is not designed for it.... it just wont sustain.

Its like building a wooden house, then deciding, to build a concrete/steel second floor, The foundation was never able to sustain the concrete/steel frame while its a great idea and its safe, its going to collapse....

The only way is to either reinforce the wooden foundation or knock it down and start all over again with a completely new foundation.....

ACA again is FINE... but the inherent system its applied on will cause the collapse.

Trump care - Is just them trying to reinforce the wooden frame, while trying to keep the benefits of the steel frame upstairs, but how long will that last?

Final Point..... HEALTH INSURANCE vs Affordable care is TOTALLY DIFFERENT.........

I changed when people started living long and the cost to keep them alive created behemoth Insurance Organizations, Multimillionaires while Grandma's eat Cat Food.

Health Insurance is required to stay alive

Affordable Health Care is the method.

If someone produces a product that people want and buy, the producers deserve having the profits. Few insurance managers make more than The Rolling Stones.

Without being PC..... and just being realistic, funds vs services and the design of funds vs services.

people living longer, does not mean you change the whole product. The product has to "update" sure, to meet the current needs. But if you change the whole product, then you needs to make sure the people providing the product can handle the change.

When you say ACA as a method of providing, Sure I can agree... but the problem is there was never a financial balance to this.

Its basically saying, before Smartphones were for those that could afford it. Then smart phones became so cheap everyone could afford it. Then the government came in told the smartphone companies, they HAD to offer the phone for FREE, but they consumer had to make the monthly payment. The Phone COST money to produce in the first place, if you make it so everyone can have it, WHO pays for the actual physical phone. Guess what, the monthly goes up for everyone.....If not the phone company goes out of business because they cant supplement to cost of the phone.

this is NOT insurance, this was never insurance and the infrastructure built around the health care system was never designed to offer "EVERYONE" medical care.... Sorry.... thats the awful truth....... Unless the system itself changes where it can substantiate this type of universal care. Then sure.....

So ACA destroyed our healthcare system, the new Trump care, is just a bandaid..... no one is going to be happy..... We have to decide if we want Insurance or Universal.

If we choose one or the other, we have to have a foundation that supports one or the other. Guess what, no matter how you look at it, It wont be perfect for everyone. With that.... do you make the system perfect but at the expense of the GREATER, or do you say sorry.... life isnt fair and make sure the system is for the GREATER.....

Personally I don't care anymore ... me and my family are covered and I'm doing just fine. My personal stake in the ACA was that I give a **** about fellow Americans who who can't get Healthcare.

Now I don't give a ****.

We had a Man in the office who cared about covering the poor ... he's gone now, so guess what ... they got Donny now ... live long and prosper. :lamo

Not going to lie.....This cracked me up......while I can agree... Me not really Giving A $H!t either..... my cost doubled in the last 4 years, I dont qualify for subsidies...... so what was so "Affordable" about it?

Yeah....... thats what pisses me off....

I'm 55 ... NEVER in my entire Adult Life has Healthcare Insurance gone down ... not once in the previous 40 years, so blaming the ACA is total and complete Bull****. But hey, if people want to believe their Healthcare Insurance is going down, why should I burst their bubble. I know I've bought 4 Corvette in my live, and one has always cost more than the other ... always and I'm not stupid enough to think the price of one is ever going down ... just like any other car.

;)

LOL dont get me wrong I understand the point about the increase of cost. It never will go down, But it surely wouldn't double in such a short period with consideration of my age. (34) now that is. There should be a steady increase sure and that is because of my age.... not because of the market deficiency and the exuberant cost associated with it.

Each year your corvette increase in cost sure, but I am sure your corvette did not DOUBLE in cost in a matter of 5 years, it inflated in cause naturally....... the increase of Health care was not a natural inflation.......
