What a grin! GOP Leadership announces a Replacement Plan but refuses to disclose any meaningful details. I feel like a caller placed on indefinite hold listening to an obnoxious recording while waiting for a live agent.
 
All they need is a way to BS their supporters ... it's worked before and I'm sure it will work again.

Just say - Obama Bad
Obamacare - Bad
Repeal-n-Replace - Good

Then a couple grunts and Rinse Repeat ...
 
Wherever they're hiding their secret bill, at least we can rest assured they've got top men working on it.

Honestly.. it makes sense to do this in secrecy. Obviously it won't be secret when it goes up for voting on committee.

But in the early stages it makes sense that in such a volatile climate that drafters are free to float various ideas around and hash this out.

NO ONE is going to be happy with this bill.

Its just not a possibility. So I think it makes sense to give the politicians some breathing room.

I certainly don't remember them saying it. But so what?

You know.. we get the government we deserve. So if we are more concerned about "scoring points"..."well the gop did it too".. than we are about actually getting good legislation.. then we deserve what we get.

Another point.. the reason for the secrecy is most likely NOT because of how democrats will react.. its to avoid the melodramatics that is going to ensue within the GOP.

I remember I used to read about South American politics, and shake my head and feel so grateful and lucky to be living in a country with such a solid, sophisticated, well-thought-out, unshakable, and uncorruptible system of government as the US. No matter how crazy it looked, it always felt like there was a basic underlying respect for decency, the rule of law, etc..., a strong system of checks and balances to prevent or mitigate the worst corruptions or idiocy, even in the depths of the Watergate scandal.

But now I'm like, Oh sh-t! Many of those countries are doing better than we are now! Pretty soon we'll probably looking at the stable and functional Venezuelan system of government with some jealousy, the way we are going!

I knew we were in big trouble years ago.. when some congressman.. stated "98% of what Planned Parenthood does is abortions"...

Well of course that's wrong.. and immediately he was confronted with the ACTUAL facts that less than some 3% of what Planned Parenthood does is abortions...

now in the past.. politicians would have said "well I misspoke" or some other way to cover up an absolute fabrication.

You know what this guy did? Instead.. in an indignant voice, he said "WELL.. THAT WAS NOT MEANT AS A FACTUAL STATEMENT!"... as if shame on the public for thinking that a politician should speak the truth...

And you know what? THE PUBLIC BOUGHT IT.

Dyed in the wool leftists defending PPACA while preemptively criticizing whatever the GOP ends up presenting (which will invariably just be a re-branded PPACA). Partisans have no principles, and ultimately really don't a ****.
