Marijuana DOES cause schizophrenia and triggers heart attacks, experts say in landmar

Re: Marijuana DOES cause schizophrenia and triggers heart attacks, experts say in lan

Good for them. :)

It's not good for them, it made them terribly sick forever.

Re: Marijuana DOES cause schizophrenia and triggers heart attacks, experts say in lan

The question was pretty straightforward. Being locked in a cage with violent criminals has health effects a thousand times more damaging than consuming cannabis. There's no rational reason or benefit to society to the drug war and even if cannabis were the most dangerous substance in the world locking people in cages doesn't help them or society.

That's funny considering you used to label yourself as a libertarian. I guess you gave it up when you became a social conservative and stopped valuing personal liberty.
Oh yeah, well you're wrong.

Re: Marijuana DOES cause schizophrenia and triggers heart attacks, experts say in lan

True, but other posters here have pointed out the details of the study, and I have agreed with them. The study is essentially an apology for current marijuana policy of prohibition. Is that too subtle for you?

Dude, if you want to go puff yourself to death, be my ****ing guest. But you'll never ever get me to agree that it's harmless.

Cannabis can trigger dormant schizophrenic brain patterns that were already there in the first place.

Do you have any evidence for the existence of "dormant schizophrenic brain patterns"?

The OP defeated himself with the link he posted. It's all there.

Re: Marijuana DOES cause schizophrenia and triggers heart attacks, experts say in lan

I have met people with mental health conditions like schizoaffective disorder and bipolar who use cannabis to successfully treat their condition; and I have met others who must avoid cannabis like the plague because it triggers their condition.

That's how pharmacology works. You try different medicines until you figure out the best match. You can't make blanket statements about conditions and medicines because they won't be apply to everyone. There are only statistical probabilities, not certainties. In denying the medicine to everyone you may be denying an effective treatment to some who will be left with mediocre alternatives.

Yes, and the article in the first link contradicts itself several times, supporting your post.

Maybe it got high - it's a little schizo.

I never said it was harmless, never once. If you must fool yourself into thinking I have, do what you need to do.

What I said is that its prohibition by the government has caused far more harm than good. Simple English, simple concept. Sorry if it's too subtle for you to grasp. :peace

We'll see about that, it hasn't been legal in enough states long enough.

Medicinal use of marijuana is controlled, recreational use is not. There's a huge difference there. Someone is monitoring you for adverse effects under medicinal use, therefore it shouldn't be a problem. Recreational use is another matter altogether. See the point?

Is the point you advocate ruining peoples lives on the off chance they might develop a condition they would develop anyway? If that's the case, let's outlaw coffee a drug you are likely addicted to and has more of a chance to adversely affect you, even kill you.

Now you show me a single study that shows a single person dying from an overdose of THC. I'll save you the time, there isn't one. So let's outlaw coffee, and start putting folks like you in jail to save you from yourselves. Do you think that is a good idea. Bet you don't...

Oh by the way, the only reason marijuana is illegal is because people some time ago thought it made black men chase after white women.

And the reason it remains illegal is a combination of a for profit justice system, and drug industry that depends on it being illegal. Without weed being illegal we wouldn't have the highest rate of incarceration in the world. And the most expensive drugs in the world.

And not to mention law enforcement depends on weed being illegal to keep their hefty budgets.

All that for something less harmful than the coffee you drink in the morning, how do you justify this disparity in freedoms as an American, American...

We'll see about that, it hasn't been legal in enough states long enough.

It has been de factolegal in most parts of the country for a long time. Those who use it do, those who don't use it don't. Very simple and generally true to life.

It has been de jure in at least 2 states, and done fashionably well, as the tax coffers of those jurisdictions are healthy because of the legalization.

You people are really becoming unhinged. None of you wants any facts that could shed a negative light on pot presented to the public. You want everything to look like sunshine, rainbows and unicorns.

Re: Marijuana DOES cause schizophrenia and triggers heart attacks, experts say in lan

I assume if you think a drug causing a temporary increase in your risk of a heart attack, probably due to anxiety, is justification for jailing people who use it then you are against cigarettes which leads to COPD, cancer, and various vascular diseases and alcohol which leads to cirrhosis, cancer, and in excess, cardiovascular disease being legal as well.

And that is far worse than wanting to imprison people for a plant...

A plant that was used to make the paper the Declaration of Independence was written on. A plant Thomas Jefferson and many founding fathers smoked. A plant that treats over 300 known illnesses and side affects, but is scheduled as having no medicinal value. But hey, you keep on drinking your coffee and judging people you have no right to judge, hypocrite.

Oh and by the way, as a Schedule 1 narcotic, no independent agency can do a study on Marijuana in the United States. Meaning there is no peer review on anything coming forth from approved government studies. And as stated above, the government has a huge stake in keeping it illegal. So I would love for the schedule to change and to get some real science on the effects of marijuana. But the sad thing is that won't happen because of your propaganda studies that no one can double check...

Studies like the one that proves marijuana kills brain cells, where they pumped 25 colombian strength joints via gas mask into monkeys in 5 mins. This killed the monkeys from asphyxiation, and then they counted the brain cells. Fun fact asphyxiation kills brain cells, and marijuana has been found to actually aid in cell growth as well as slow down dementia and alzheimer's.

So excuse me if I question any information not properly peer reviewed on the subject of marijuana.
