Obama tells Democrats: 'Don't rescue' Republicans on 'Trumpcare'

Your mistake is assuming that everything Trump wants to do is partisan motivated. Undoing Obamacare is not partisan motivated. Obamacare was passed on a party line vote despite objections from the vast majority of American people. Not only is it not working, It is the single biggest reason the democrat party lost control of the Senate, the House of Representatives, most state legislatures and most state governors. The only partisanship is the democrat party very stupidly defending Obamacare and vowing to fight for it, simply because it was Obama's signature legislation. Undoing Obama's unconstitutional executive orders is not partisan motivated either. American's fought a revolutionary war to shake off the British monarchy. To keep us from becoming a monarchy, the founding fathers set up three separate but equal branches of government. The Executive Branch(the president), the Legislative Branch(congress), and the Judicial Branch(US Supreme Court). Obama has not, at least in his second term shown any respect for that Separation of Powers. For instance, when Congress did not give him a comprehensive immigration bill, he said in so many words: "Nevermind....I have a pen and a phone". and attempted to do it himself with executive orders. it is primarily those kind of nonsense executive orders that Trump intends to undo. Point is, if we allow the president to bypass the legislative Branch and enact new laws on his own, then we become a monarchy, rather then a representative government. We may as well shutter Capitol Hill.

your post is one sided

Im just answering your question as to why its controversial. A significant number of people dont want govt controlling business.
Yeah i certaintly understand that and i myself favor that thinking too. The problem as i see is a great many people are akso demanding they are provided heakthcare that they can not afford. I was attempting to see if there is any room for compromise between the two differing opinions.

Everything Trump wants to do IS partisan motivated.....for him and his ego. Or are you seriously suggesting Twitter Man has the interests of America first and foremost?

Yep. If the GOP repeal it and leave a void, there will be hell to pay. And, I cannot wait to see that happen.

typical Democrat tactics-create stupid programs that stupid people rely upon and causing those people to go cold turkey will cause massive meltdowns

The AMA is against the repeal. Are doctors stupid, Turtle?

The AMA will support what they think will make their ACTIVE members the most money. I thought liberals complained doctors were getting too much money.

Trump's going to cut doctor pay?

interesting interpretation. The AMA has a membership of about 217,000 and that includes medical students. Their numbers have been falling yet they are one of the biggest lobbying groups in the country. I am not really up on whether the AMA actually represents the issues of most doctors. My main experience is that the doctors I know, most opposed Obamacare

Yes. The truth side. Obamacare was passed on a strictly party line vote. That party had to bribe some of it's own members with earmarks to get the last half dozen or so votes. They had no cover from the political opposition. Obamacare has never been popular. it is not working as advertised. It has utterly destroyed the democrat party's hold on power. Can you honestly dispute any of that?

That goes for any politician who runs for president to a point. However for most it is also about public service. Time will tell. If Trump follows through on his promises he will be judged well. if he does not, then he will be judged based on that. I get that you despise Trump. I despise some of the statements he made as a primary candidate. However he is promising to do what other republicans have only given lip service. I'll give him a chance. And could not have voted for Hillary under any circumstances. And party has nothing to do with it. And once again, dismantling Obamacare and unconstitutional executive orders will only be seen as a partisan issue by democrats. He has the political capital to right those wrongs just as Reagan had the political capital to do what he did.

I really do not give a damn about the politicized wing of the AMA. They also speak out on gun control issues.

So Obama and democrats aren't going to help solve Americas health care nightmare. That's a smart approach.

It's the Democrat approach.

Create a monster that won't work.

Implement it without any Republic input.

Blame the Republicans for not fixing it.

Then refuse to offer any input or assistance when Republicans attempt to fix it.

Democrat's politics as usual.

My experience has been the same. For instance when Obamacare canceled my health insurance policy and I went to my Eye Specialist group to retrieve my medical records to get them to the VA Doctor, they mentioned that they were losing a lot of patients due to the ACA. So much for "if you like your plan, you can keep it.....If you like your doctor, you can keep him/her".

My ENT guy left that speciality and now does mainly face lifts and stuff. Doesn't deal with insurance anymore since his clientele is now wealthy aging women who want "maintenance" and pay up front

Sure. Address it at the state level. California can go full socialism. Texas can stay free, and people can move to whichever one they prefer. The federal govt can focus on defending the states from invasion and enforcing the constitution. Win Win.

I would agree with this too and i would eliminate the federal income tax for everyone except states. People should pay their state taxes and the states should pay the feds whatever they need to operate. It would be a more effective way to curb gov spending imho.

The end result is that the so-called affordable healthcare is hurting most, those it was allegedly intended to help.

Sure, I support whichever system produces the minimum amount of money the govt needs, at the most equal rate from all citizens.
