ACA marketplace premiums - better than initial expectations

Well, premiums are rising, but when prices rise, thats to be expected. And insurance companies are making money (despite the angushed cries of ACA haters which insist they are all losing their shirts with the ACA) and, more importantly, using their earnings to pay for healthcare for customers instead of pocketing the difference thanks to guys like Al Franken for insisting on the medical loss ratio provisions in the ACA.

So yes..... Thanks, Obama!

Yeah no.. its not to be expected. Prices are not rising.. because insurance companies and the government are reducing prices.. reimbursement. Its why costs have been declining. And insurance companies are making money and their profits are going to shareholders and CEO"S. The medical loss ratio is a farce. Thanks Obama.

Sounds like someone doesnt like competing in the free market.

Lol costs continue to go up not down we know that was the goal so you were right in that regard.
That is a lie they have had plenty of plans to replace it.

In fact they introduced a ton of them.

Now the deception of obamacare finally got figured out by the insurance companies and they are pulling out.
Almost all of the co ops have gone under. The ones that remain will be forced to increase prices to deal with all the
New sick people. The system was never designed to insure people it was done to try and collapse the insurance companies.

The fact is it didn't work. The insurance companies got smart and are pulling out.

Once the evil healthcare insurance companies are all, or mostly, driven out of business, and the government takes that over, what's the difference between that situation and government run single payer system? Not much that I can see.

So everyone take a good long and hard look at the VA. It's in your future under a government run single payer system (government run systems all tend perform at the same level - that one).

Don't believe me?

The va is under fire for spending 180m on fancy art work.
Yea I want the government handling my healthcare.

Doctor I need this surgery.
Sorry son I have a new painting coming and the money to pay for it came
From the money for your survey you I'll have to wait for next year.

Sounds like someone doesnt like competing in the free market.

Let me know when the insurance market becomes one.
I haven't seen it yet.

While premiums continue to go up and insurance companies are making more money than ever...

THANKS OBAMA!

Umm yea that is why they are pulling out because they are making a ton of cash.
That is what companies do when making a ton of money they pull out of the market .

Oh, I hadn't heard that one. That's just ****ing sick when there are patients that need to be cared for.

Same goes for the 'bonuses' paid to administrators who fail, and continue to do so. Yeah, government rewards failure, and that's one of it's problems, and one of the reasons they can't manage jack ****.

$20 million.

Over ten years.

In a system as big as the VA, that's pretty reasonable.

As the head of the American Legion said, 'we don't want veterans hospitals to look like the insides of prisons'.

But thanks for the fauxrage.

No outrage at all. No it isn't reasonable when people are dying because they can't get in to see a doctor.
Because the money was spent on useless paintings.

This proves again why the government shouldn't be in charge of healthcare.

I could careless what the American legion says people died because millions of dollars went to expensive paintings.
They could have spent way less not buying fancy paintings. I am sure vets that needed doctors surgery and
Medication would have rather had that than being told sorry budget is down because we spent millions on art work instead of treating you.

Sorry I value my healthcare over paintings on a wall I guess you don't.

Well, Mr Hysterical, I'm sure no VA budget was moved from the 'keeping people alive' fund to the 'useless art' fund.

The VA is funded at $150 Billion per year. Art expenditures of $2 million per year are certainly within reason.

not when people are dying it isn't the fact that you think it is shows that government nor liberals
should be in charge of healthcare.

2m dollars could have saved hundreds of vets that needed doctors surgery and medicine and instead
bought over priced paintings. they could have bought equally nice paintings at the art store in the mall
20 or 30 bucks.

once again the ineptitude of government is shown. you want to hand your health over to
people that would rather buy art work that is fine I value my health and the health of my family
more.

deal with the fact that government cannot handle or manage healthcare in a reasonable or responsible way.

obamcare fail and VA fail and Medicaid fail is the perfect example of a crap job being done.

If you read the story, its not about paintings... its about large public artworks, taking about an expense that probably is exceeded by the paper clip budget for the VA yearly.

Still loving the faux outrage though.

I can do it too! THAT DAMNED VA BUYING PAPER CLIPS! THEY COULD HAVE SAVED A LIFE IF THEY JUST USED STAPLES INSTEAD! HARUMPF HERP DERP UMF!

just shows your dishonesty is all. paper clips actually have a useful function.
buying public artworks not so much.

{fauxrage]CAN YOU BELIEVE ALL THE MONEY THE VA BLOWS ON ONE SIDED PAPER PRINTING?? PEOPLE HAVE DIED BECAUSE THEY DONT USE TWO SIDED COPIES TO SAVE PAPER! [/fauxrage]

That is what companies do when making a ton of money they pull out of the market .

no what they do is THREATEN to pull out of a market when they are negotiating for higher rates from the government.

and of course they did decide to increase their marketshare after they had been in the market for two years. That's apparently what companies do when losing money in a market.. increase their presence in that market

Fat chance.. the healthcare insurance companies aren't going to be run out of business. they are going love single payer as they administer it for the government for a nice fat fee.. (like they administer medicare and Medicaid)... then they offer private insurance to the wealthy class for a nice fat profit.

Even more disconcerting.

most of the co-ops have failed.

it isn't a threat they are doing it.

Sure... oh by 2017 we PLAN to exit those Obamacare exchanges...

You just wait!..

Yeah.. gee.. you think that might be a negotiating tactic in an election year?

Nah right? ..

We will see what really happens.

Who knows.. with all the consolidation happening in the insurance industry.. the industry might have tied up enough marketshare, that they are willing to really play hardball and leave the exchanges if they don't get their rate increases.

Its one of the main problems with obamacare.. now the government is on the hook. And the insurance companies know that the government is an endless supply of money.

Remember all the leftists yowling in the streets and proclaiming how great their king was when Obamacare passed?

In most cases, the left finally comes to the hard reality that.....they are wrong. That darn "reality" thing. Can you say "Socialism"?

Did you buy that strawman at WND, or is it a generic one from Hannity.com?
