More good news regarding gun ownership:

Black Americans Now Account For The Highest Increase In Gun Sales

"The highest overall firearm sales increase comes from Black men and women, who show a 58.2% increase in purchases during the first six months of 2020 versus the same period last year," wrote Jim Curcuruto, National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) director of Research and Market Development, in his report according to AOL News. "Bottom line is that there has never been a sustained surge in firearm sales quite like what we are in the midst of."

I am not surprised.

I still haven't decided on whether I will break my long-held belief that I don't need to own a firearm. But I am leaning more and more towards doing so.

For some reason, IMO this country is experiencing a period of social Schizophrenia.

We have a segment of our population which has decided, for whatever reasons, to reject our long-held American ideals, and replace them with tribalism and socialism.

It is tearing us apart piece by piece. Such that we are being forced to choose sides.

IMO that 2A right may very well come in handy in the not-to-distant future.

I can easily believe that Americans of African ancestry are buying guns.

They have no illusions about an unusually large percentage of violent young men in their communities.

They are too smart to believe the propaganda from the liberal media that everything is the fault of mean cops.

I'm in the same boat. I haven't owned a gun in over ten years, but when the market cools down a bit I think I'm going to buy a shotgun and a pistol.

The right to self-defense implies the right to own the means of self-defense, just like the right to eat implies the right own own food.

True. The anti seconds believe in self defense. All they want is for people to defend themselves with rubber bands shooting paper clips or rolled up newspapers.. For myself, I prefer something more substantial.

The state has a duty to protect people from those who wish to harm them and equip themselves with the means to cause unreasonable harm.

We can argue over what rights we have, but one thing we can't argue about is that whatever human rights we have, they are equal.

The state is a group of people. They are not morally superior to the rest of us. If state agents have the right to possess those weapons, so do the rest of us. Personally, I don't believe anyone has the right to own WMDs, and the only time they have been used so far has of course been by state agents.
