Gun Violence Chicago

Not all gun dealers are licensed.

If someone want to remain a dealer long then they play by the rules. And when you say dealers it can only be assumed you mean FFL and not someone dealing out of the trunk of his car.

Again, most straw purchases are out of state....oh, wait, do you need me to repeat it again?

You mean to tell me that IL doesn't have a law making it illegal to bring guns in from out of state and sell them to people who aren't permitted to own them?

That's true...I should've said "unlicensed sellers." But still, that doesn't change my point...that most guns used in crimes in Chicago are from out of state.

Unlicensed sellers.

Unlicensed sellers are people who may sell a small or large amount of guns but do not (or are not supposed to) earn their livelihood from firearm sales. These sellers do not have to conduct criminal background checks on gun sales...

Gun Show Loophole FAQ - The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence

Considering it’s a felony for an unlicensed dealer to sell to someone who resides in a different state, it is irrelevant to this thread

Sends Moot to tell them they aren't honest enough to have guns?

I think the leftists imagine that all the criminals will just say OK and like up at the local community advisers offices to turn them in because they will all feel safe when there are no police departments anymore.

This is not to far off from the bizzarro world that leftists live in.

So the majority aren't from Id.? Should've, would've, but didn't. But that has nothing to do with where guns may be from.

According to the report, most of the guns used in crimes in Chicago are from out of state. Indiana is at the top of the list...followed by Mississippi.

There's lots of unlicensed sellers at gun shows.

What do you consider “lots”? It’s been my experience from attending a few shows each year the vast majority of people selling guns are licensed dealers and very few unlicensed sellers are wondering around.

Republican love to point out that Chicago/Illinois has/had strict gun control, while at the same time they claim those laws are unconstitutional.

10,000 Illegal Guns Taken Off Streets Of Chicago In 2019: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police say they have passed a milestone in illegal gun seizures.

Police have confiscated more than 10,000 guns from city streets so far in 2019, police Supt. Eddie Johnson said in a news conference.

That beats the 9,800 guns recovered in 2018, Johnson said. The department averages about 7,000 guns seized each year......

Shouldn't Republicans and the NRA be telling the Chicago PD to give the 10,000 guns back, because there is no such thing as a illegal gun in America ?

Which is it, are there state/local gun restriction that you believe in or not.

And what exactly does anecdotal evidence prove?
We're not presenting anecdotal evidence we've quoted federal laws.

Why does IL need federal anti-gun laws to enforce its own laws against gun trafficking?

Well, how does Illinois get other states with lax gun laws to enforce their state's stricter gun laws? It doesn't do much good for one state to have strict gun regulations when the surrounding states don't. Only the federal government remedy that problem.

What are you talking about? In order for someone to obtain guns in IN, and bring them to IL, they have to bring the guns to IL. If they can catch people illegally selling drugs in Chicago, they can certainly catch them illegally selling guns.

See the other pandemic for the republican "you are on your own" solution.
