Stevens was a political hack whose dissent was widely panned as idiotic His attitude was that he "COULDN'T BELIEVE THE FOUNDERS WOULD NOT GIVE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT the POWER TO BAN GUNS" so he assumed one existed. No one sees his dissent as one of the towering bits of legal scholarship. In fact, it is one of the worst examples of statist BS.

i never commented on any of the things that you tried to change the subject to. i simply said, and will continue to say, that the 2nd won't be overturned and asked you if you wanna bet.

I want you to quit dodging and answer a basic question. That being-if state governments ignore the second amendment, does it still exist. I don't think the second amendment will be repealed.

I basically in the same boat as you. But I've gotten to a point where this man child with his temper tantrums, name calling, his schoolyard bullying antic who acts more like a four year old spoiled brat who's parents forgot to teach him any manners must go.

Right now stances on issues, policy, etc has taken a back seat to this man child's persona. Time to get an adult in the White House. I like you hope I'm not sorry. My choice is either vote for Biden or vote third party as I did in 2016 against both Trump and Clinton. I'll never vote for this egotistical, revenge hunting, obnoxious, uncouth residence of the white house.

My vote isn't so much against his policies, but against the man, the individual, against a president who persona is more out of the WWE than the occupant of the white house.

Evidently she is the front runner. Can't figure it out though. She made her bones in the race by calling out Joe for his racism. And she's put more blacks in prison most any other choice he could make.

sure, and you will demonstrate you are unlearned in this area. They are two of the most revered constitutional law professors in the USA. Amar holds the Sterling Professorship at the top law school in the country. His articles are often cited by federal courts

The second amendment didn;t start with Heller.. and it won;t end with it. And it sure as heck isn;t getting overturned. Face it man.. you are clinging to "the supreme court".. to find ANY reason to support Trump despite the fact that Trump is the single biggest threat to our democracy and our constitution.

Go tell it on the mountain. As a long time republican.. Trump has to go. His policies are the worst farces.. really not policies but simply knee jerk ideology that he feels that get him adulation.

At the end of the day,, Biden.. well he had his chance against guns. He and Obama had their chance with a democrat controlled congress and the presidency. And what happened with gun control at the federal level? THEY reduced federal gun control by opening up federal parks to firearms.

In fact.. they even shied away from outlawing bump stocks... WHICH TRUMP OUTLAWED by executive order.

Because I think both Biden and OBama, understood that while the gun control issue gets their progressives all fired up... 40% of america owns guns.. and they don;t want to see more gun control.. and frankly.. there are other bigger fish to fry who are less politically dangerous.

Gun control is the democrats third rail. I hope they realize it this election and stay as far from gun control as they can. Its a big factor in why Hillary lost.

Trump has to go. If I have to deal with Biden.. who I have already dealt with for 8 years... to get to a republican that is more truly conservative.. so be it. But 4 more years of Trump is a disaster this country cannot afford.

I couldn't have said it better. If what we're getting is more or less the moderate Democrat who was a senator, who wasn't afraid to work across the aisle, then we're getting a good man. I think one forgets it was Biden working with McConnell that ended the government shutdown over the debt ceiling in 2013. I like Biden's history, now whether the Democrats in congress will let Biden work across the aisle, compromise, play the game of give and take remains to be seen.

Like you, I can live with Old Joe for four years if that gets rid of Trump. I hope he picks a good VP that isn't way far left. As one of Biden's jobs would be to groom her for the 2024 election.

I don't agree with most Democratic gun regulation policies either, but I'm still casting my vote for good ol' Joe. I'm done with Trump, and I want his ass gone.
