Piers Morgan isn't very happy about this news...

2020 has not been kind to the future of the gun-control movement, methinks.

Panic gun-buyers tend not to be mask-wearers, so it balances out.

I have to be honest and say that I have been seriously reconsidering my personal reluctance about obtaining a firearm.

These troublesome times we are living in raise many concerns for me.

Always a good idea to have a firearm. If you decide to make the leap, might as well buy more than one. :shoot

Yeah in a time when there's been a weekend of bloodshed - with 41 people shot in NYC alone, what rational person wouldn't come to the conclusion that what America needs is MORE GUNS.

And here is what I would tweet to Mr. Morgan... "NOW WHY THE **** DO YOU THINK THAT IS, DUFFUS?"

To which he could reply, "Well it certainly isn't because the number of guns has made America a safer place is it?"

There are millions of people in the US right now becoming first time gun owners precisely because they believe owning a gun will increase their personal safety. I suspect many of them are liberals and progressives as well.

Because what America needs right now is more guns.

I agree, and it looks like that's what we're getting.

Maybe the federal government needs to subsidize their purchase - stimulate the economy by encouraging US jobs in manufacturing

It's mystifying why all countries don't reduce crime by encouraging gun ownership....the occasional school massacre is but a small price to pay.

Hey, no worry, I'll loan you a couple.

People who could be on the receiving end of the outcome of the gun banners.

Tell you what. When you get guns out of the hands of criminals, idiots, and liberals, we'll be able to have a rational discussion of this topic.

I heard they're preparing for the civil war of all wars...:2razz:

In other words, he wouldn't know the obvious.

That's an excellent idea.

First, because increasing crime benefits the state. "Fighting crime" makes a nice pretext to strip away your rights one by one.

Second, an armed populace means if it comes down to it, people can fight back against democide and authoritarianism in general. Just ask the Hong Kong protesters:

A large part of it is rioting and looting, many of the heaviest anti gun people I have seen are white, wealthy and live in gated communities, completely disconnected from the nation. Now that rioting and looting is hitting them or near them and the gated communities and the police that protect them are faultering there is a push by those who opposed to guns to actually buy guns.

Well there are also many who were never anti gun but never bought a gun as well, who decided to given the rioting and looting, it seems people are only anti gun so long as they are protected from the general populace but seem to change their tune when violence and crime walks up to their doorstep.

Because what America needs right now is more guns.

Dunno about that. It is pretty evident, though, that America wants more guns right now.

Here's hoping Piers can find a way muddle through...

many of those people are left-wingers -are you saying left-wingers are less likely to wear masks than right wingers? Most of us on the right are well armed and well supplied.

as usual, you are unable to delineate between lawful/honest gun owners and those who possess them illegally
