Sister pulls out gun and saves her brother from would-be robbers

You avoided a real answer to my question.

Yes, America's obsession with guns allows criminals, including home invaders, carry guns and therefore be more dangerous and, IMO, more likely to commit a crime

So the gun owners' argument is circular, they need guns because US gun laws allow criminals to get guns.

I guess you still really don't want to answer my questions but just in case I'll ask one more time. What do you think about the sister being able to defend her brothers life? Do you think thats a good thing/a happy ending for the brother and sisters sake? And DO YOU THINK IF SHE HAD JUST CALLED 911 THAT THE POLICE COULD HAVE SAVED THEM??

I think it's great

No, as the saying goes, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away

That's not an argument for guns though, it's an argument to ban guns*

*A gun ban wouldn't ban EVERY type of firearm so homeowners/residents would still be safe and criminals would be less dangerous as the evidence from the UK shows.

Uh, criminals are banned from carrying guns. Banning things always works.

Guns are banned in El Salvador too. What does that show?

As we can see, relying on laws banning criminals from buying and carry guns don't work

So the solution is the ban guns from American society. Ban them from being made, imported or supplied. Ammunition too*

*With previously explained caveats

Weak law enforcement.

So we need to ban everyone from driving because some drive drunk and ban gasoline too. If one of your employees shows up late to work, you need to dock everyone. Some might think that is really stupid. Others know it is really stupid.

No, we don't need to ban cars or gasoline

That's just "what-about-ism"

We don't need to ban kitchen knives, kitchen clocks or swimming pools either

Vehicles are essential and designed for transport, most guns are just designed to kill. So if you want to argue for banning swords go ahead, I'll be all ears....

And if several (not just one) empl0yee was showing up late, the employer might introduce a time clock where one had not existed before and they'd operated an "honor system"

Yes your solution is that home invader scenarios will result in shotgun fights or knife fights.

Good plan Rich.

Cars kill a lot more people than guns.

i think it is great that having so many guns around allow for such dramatic shootouts.

good stuff!

maybe next time they can use grenade launchers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why not, a poster on here actually said he had no objection to a citizen owning an Apache helicopter gunship if they could afford one.

"A fatal shooting in Louisville on Saturday night added a grim note to weeks of protests against police violence and particularly against the killing there in March of Breonna Taylor, an African-American emergency room technician shot to death by police in her home.
The shooting victim was identified as Tyler Gerth, 27, of Louisville. Mr. Gerth was a photographer who had frequented the protests and documented them with his camera for weeks, the Louisville Courier Journal reported.
The accused shooter was identified in an arrest citation as Steven Lopez. He has been charged with murder and first-degree wanton endangerment, according to the citation.
He had been a participant in the protests and had repeatedly been asked to leave by other protesters “due to his disruptive behavior,” officials said at a news conference on Sunday. Mr. Lopez is in police custody at a hospital, officials said....

"Two people are dead and eight people have been injured after a shooting at a South Carolina nightclub early Sunday morning.
The incident took place at Lavish Lounge in Greenville, South Carolina, just before 2 a.m. on Sunday morning when Greenville County sheriff’s deputies saw a large commotion outside the establishment and called for backup due to “active gunfire from inside the building, according to Greenville County Sheriff’s spokesperson Lt. Jimmy Bolt...

Enough facts in that news report ?
Two dead eight injured, but does anyone know the cause, or were there reasons behind it we don't know yet?

And I bet you're a big fan of Walberg's shootem up movies along with Matt Damon and not too forget Kevin Bacon. And all your other favorite anti gun hypocrites.

Irrational fear is a sign of mental illness. Some people are afraid of the dark. They sleep with night lights on. Some are afraid of black men. They see every black man as a mugger, they cross the street to avoid them. Spiders, snakes, germs, almost anything can set them off. Seeing a spider or snake will send them screaming down the street. To them every surface is a germ laden death trap. Some on this board even fear guns. Don't tell them that a gun is only a tool and over 99% of gun owners are responsible safe people, because they won't listen. Don't try to reason with them because their fear won't allow them to accept reason. Their minds are frail and they are incapable of accepting reality. It is sad that these people don't seek psychiatric help.

no clue what these movies are although the names Bacon and Dillion sound familiar.

BTW, I will watch no movie with exploding anything. If a movie does not make me think, it's a waste of time.

Some gun owners fear the USA will descend into a "tyranny" and claim their guns will protect them from that

Other gun owners fear home invasion by armed intruders

So perhaps you're right and they are mentally ill.

Somehow I doubt the framers thought their muzzle loading muskets kept them free from "tyranny" or armed home invasion

Their RW descendants today though are not so smart.
