"OAKLAND - A Hayward man arrested for carrying an untraceable ghost gun in February has been sentenced to five years, three months in federal prison, court records show.

"SEATTLE — A Washington state man who recently served prison time on a gun charge amassed an arsenal of homemade “ghost guns” after his release even though he was on federal supervision, according to a criminal complaint unsealed in U.S. District Court.
Nathan Brasfield, 40, of Edmonds, was sentenced to four years in prison after a 2014 arrest for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He began a three-year term of supervised release in October 2017.
Such supervised release periods typically require offenders to check in periodically with U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services and to grant probation officers access to their homes at any time...

Pictured below is an ultra minimal, highly compact submachine gun design which is a clear contender for the simplest ever conceived. Disassembled It consists of only nine parts including screws and springs. Almost every main component is fabricated using steel box section tube, including the one-piece thumb operated trigger.

Overall this SMG measures 15 1/2″ long and weighs a mere 3 lbs unloaded. The design has no sights and is purely a spray from the hip deal requiring the user to depress the trigger button while holding the weapon with both hands (“one hand gripping the magazine well”) to fire.

A grease-gun style cut out in the bolt allows it to be cocked back “by inserting a finger through the ejection port, further eliminating protrusions such as a charging handle”. According to the designer, this weapon can be manufactured in around two hours from under $20 worth of scrap material using not much more than a hacksaw and a drill.

There are worse ways to pass a rainy weekend afternoon.

;)

But I cant decide if its the Jenny Craig diet, or the Bobby Sands diet....It looks a bit risky for sustained fire. ;)
