Trump Admin Names Gun Makers, Retailers Essential Businesses Nationwide

this was the statement :

false. as for the second amendment, i think that it's worded poorly, and has left a lot open to interpretation. i don't "hate" absolutists on either side, but i'm not really interested in a fifty page quote farm about two commas or whatever like some people in this subforum dig. i grew up both guns and idiots, and that taught me that we need to keep an eye on who is building arsenals and maybe say no sometimes.

ok fair enough but you do realize that almost all the violent criminals who use guns are not those with "arsenals". Paddock was a really far outlier

Why don't you answer the question for him yourself? You clearly claimed he 'hates people who value the 2nd Amendment.' Can you 'prove' your claim that the words you attributed to him to be 'factual' ? YES or NO is all that is required. If YES, prove it. If NO, then retract your positive claim.

cool story bro.

and many of them obtain the weapons through illegal sales that originated from legal sales from very permissive states. i believe that's part of the current flow of weapons into Chicago. it's tough to ban hurricanes when you're next to an ocean, so to speak.

"The Chinese Virus"

That doesn't upset the Chinese, after all we're just recognizing the place of origin aren't we ?
I was asked last week if the label "Spanish Flu" was offensive 100 years ago...I mean why do you think it was called that ?

A total loose cannon for president, it's a case of how much damage and how many lives the clown will cost us.

From what I read it started in the Midwest US. It was supposedly labeled Spanish flu when it moved there, because of all the France stuff that was in the news at the time, and while France still had some press censorship and Spain didn't.

Btw, my mom was six during that time, 1918. Her father's preventative measure involved putting a hot poker in a jar of red wine and having the kids drink. A Sicilian cure. No one fell ill. Try it if the virus comes to your town.

well that violates at least three federal laws and several state laws. the idea that passing one more law will stop that is inane nonsense. Right now, there is sufficient evidence for the feds or state DAs to prosecute about 85% of the straw purchasers but almost none are. And every time someone is denied a legal sale by a licensed dealer because their background check comes back a negative-that is a layup case of federal perjury but in the 24 years I was at DOJ, the number of cases where those matters were prosecuted was next to nothing. In other words, there are plenty of laws on the books that could be used to incarcerate felons trying to get guns or those who buy guns for felons.

like i said, it's difficult to regulate hurricanes when you live next to the ocean. anyway, you know where i stand, and i know where you stand. this discussion is about to become pointless, and i'm bored by pointless.

works for me and I suspect you understand why I tire of people wanting more laws when the ones we have aren't even enforced

The USA is one possibility for the origin of Spanish Flu, but although perhaps the strongest case, the evidence is not conclusive.

One thing is sure, it is highly unlikely to have originated in Spain, and got it's name because less restrictive reporting laws there at the time, resulted in more cases being reported there than in other countries engaged in the end of WWI.

The Donald is full-on going for re-election. That's what this means.

Nothing new to see here folks, keep moving along....

They spread the virus but seemingly China has it under control.

Unlike the three countries that have surpassed China in the number of COVID-19 cases:

Namely Italy, Spain and the USA.

Citizens in Wuhan say the government covered up the fact there were some 42,000 deaths rather than the 3000+ reported. That would lead us believe there were many more cases and likely still are.

So how do you stop that? It's like all the abortion people that want it to go back to the states. Women will just go to the states where it's legal.

You end up punishing all the woman and legal gun owners (well, that's if you had a solution, which I'm not sure...do you?)

Sources?

For guns, I'd probably consider supporting more thorough background checks on all sales and having large ammo purchases or the building of an arsenal at least warrant a closer look.

Can you do better? I checked, it's a far-right conservative site.

There's a link to Radio Free China on there.

Whatever source you use won't tell the whole story from China. They censer everything.

They already require that...like TD said, most of that is already law. It's not properly enforced. Why not fix that first?

As for ammo, the bureaucracy to track that would be hugely expensive and people just buy it whenever in small amounts anyway. It would also be an undue burden on responsible people...if you go to the range to train, practice...you can go thru hundreds of rounds in a day. And more training is a common demand from anti-gun people.

Also, you may not realize this but many people reload (make) their own ammo.

I partially agree with you on that.

It's the common deflection for the "any further measures equals confiscation / don't give an inch" crowd. It's part of why these discussions are useless.

Your ignorance is astounding, even for this forum......

That's not an argument. I made cogent, accurate points.

What you wrote is basically, 'but do something!'
