Current Attempts to destroy Gun rights in Congress

So you support states rights to ban abortion? To ban gay marriage?

i support plane tickets to Somalia for JimBobs who want to carry howitzers at Sam's Club because they chose that as a hobby. if we can afford billions for a stock buyback slush fund, we can afford that.

Right...I saw your previous stupid comments. They werent any less stupid when you said them before.

But since you are for states rights...does that mean you support states rights to ban abortion? To ban gay marriage?

No. He has a point. Most Americans do not want gun nuts wandering in their midst.

I would imagine that democrats in the sticks or boonies tend to be a lot more pro-2nd amendment than their counterparts in the cities.

I would imagine.

We don't get too many drive-by's out here. Unless it's the mailman and we have no mail. LOL!

i don't engage in abortion fistfights, and i'm not eskeered of gay people. i'm perfectly fine with the federal government preventing right wingers from denying gay people their rights.

Not the question asked. i didnt ask if you personally supported abortion or gay marriage...I asked if you support the states right to BAN abortions and gay marriage?

i answered both questions. it's certainly sad if you didn't pick up on it, but i can't say that i care very much. so, what do you think about my free Somalia ticket idea? now that "socialism" is cool, you can get behind a little plane ticket, right? i mean, ****, the guns you can get there if you know the right people. one could walk around like Rambo with fifty Tommy guns and probably not even have a toe left by lunch.

is the perfect time too, while America is focused on that virus, lets sneak some legislation in

This is the type of bill that gets attached to a corona bill when nobody is looking, and either you're stuck with it or you get accused of being anti corona cure.

Well...no...actually...you didnt come close to answering them. You DID continue to make your typical embarrassingly stupid comments, but I hold out hope that there is a possibility that you might able to actually hold an intelligent conversation, despite all evidence to the contrary. So...I'll ask again...do you support the individual states right to BAN abortions and gay marriage?

already addressed. maybe you can take tonight and read for comprehension. i'm happy to link you back to the post if that helps.

My reading comprehension is just fine. The fact is you absolutely refuse to answer the question. I suspect you and I both know why...because you DONT support the states right to ban gay marriage or abortion and you know that if you actually speak the truth about that position it ****s on your argument that it is appropriate for the states to ban gun rights in opposition to the 2nd Amendment.

OR...

I could just have been wrong all along in assuming you were actually capable of participating in an intelligent discussion...and not just being dishonest.

You want to ban all good guys from having guns because they might cause problems....

That's the foundation of gun control.

We can't know if those "good guys" will ever turn "bad"

Sadly we can't allow mass shootings to be addressed by some kind of "honor system".

:lamo

So...you couldnt help yourself...you had to re-post as evidence your stupid comment that showed you very deliberately refusing to answer the question "do you support the states right to ban gay marriage or abortion" and in the process, double down?

I guess maybe it was the latter all along. How tragic.

As I said, you're confusing power and influence

George III (before he went mad) had no political power.

So you admit that the USA's political system is not used by ANY Westernized democracy

Australia, NZ ans Canada all use a parliamentary system and they're younger than the USA

Japan also has a parliamentary system with a prime minister and an emperor as head of state

The presidential system of government doesn't work well even for the USA, it's just the system the founders stuck the USA with

Have you not heard the term "parliamentary democracy" ?

"A parliamentary system or parliamentary democracy is a system of democratic governance of a state (or subordinate entity) where the executive derives its democratic legitimacy from its ability to command the confidence of the legislature, typically a parliament, and is also held accountable to that parliament."

Parliamentary system - Wikipedia

You might be thinking of the UK which has no written constitution.

Other parliamentary democracies eg: Ireland, Germany and Japan do. So their parliaments can't just strike down a part of the national constitution

You've never studied politics beyond high school social studies have you ?

The King still had a lot of power, he ordered troops into America

Because for other countries, the US system would not be as efficient, it works well with the US

Canada,Australia and NZ all used to be part of Britain, so they used their system

It wouldn't work in Japan, the Emperor is like the King or Queen in England except it still has some power

The system of government is identical

1Congress/Parliment
2.Head of state-Emperor,King,President,etc

Britain head of state is the queen, but Germany who doesn't have a king or queen has a President like America.

Parliamentary Systems are similar but England in the 18th century was no democracy,America was first

I don't have knowledge of Political historyoutside of basic school, but in this conversation, so do you. I focus on political issues and foreign affairs mostly. This type of stuff is new to me and I thank you for having this discussion with me

already addressed. the trip to Somalia is pretty long, so maybe one would find time to read for comprehension during it.

Your comments are comprehended and explained. We are left with two choices where your posts are concerned...dishonest or stupid.

I give up on guessing which. Maybe its not an either/or question at that.

sometimes admitting that you don't know is a good first step. however, i'd argue that correctly interpreting an internet post is something that one should master before attempting to carry a railgun into Aldi.

yeah pretty much

The King still had a lot of power, he ordered troops into America

No he didn't, at least no anymore that Queen Elizabeth II ordered the task force to retake the Falklands in 1982

The British government did. The king could not declare a war or a peace.

Because for other countries, the US system would not be as efficient, it works well with the US

So now you admit the rest of the Westernized world does NOT base its political system on that of the USA

(just why would it not be as "efficient")

And no it doesn't work well in the USA either. I can and does produce political inertia and lame duck presidents like Obama in his second term
It is a BAD system, and if the USA is successful, it is despite its poor political system, not because of it

Canada,Australia and NZ all used to be part of Britain, so they used their system

No they were part of the British empire - which in case you'd forgotton so were the American colonies

And like the American colonies, no-one forced Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland etc to adopt the British political system

Zimbabwe and Nigeria were both part of the British empire too...but both decided on a presidential form of government with power vested in one man

It wouldn't work in Japan, the Emperor is like the King or Queen in England except it still has some power

The Japanese chose to keep their emporer rather than have a president

What examples do you have of the Japanese emperor exercising power ? (are you going to cite Hirohito's 1945 radio broadcast ? (you know that was before the establishment of a constitutional monarch form of government?)

Britain head of state is the queen, but Germany who doesn't have a king or queen has a President like America.

Yes but not like America

The German president holds no power - that is held by the chancellor who sits in the German parliament. Currently it is Angela Merkel

Parliamentary Systems are similar but England in the 18th century was no democracy,America was first

In what ways was the infant USA (which only granted suffrage to about 6% of the population) more democratic than Britain ?

I do, I studied politics and economic history at college.

Of course you would argue that...but then...you are unwilling or incapable of answering a simple question because it will expose the stupidity in your arguments. So...your positions are rather self serving.

All the sponsors currently are Democrats. The chance of this getting passed is almost zero, but it shows what many Democrats want to impose on this Country

Text - H.R.5717 - 116th Congress (2019-2020): Gun Violence Prevention and Community Safety Act of 2020 | Congress.gov | Library of Congress

the biggest joke is listing hundreds of firearms-many of which are obsolete and no longer relevant as NOT banned.

Dummasses have got it in their stupid heads that guns are bad for people and need to be outlawed. I wish we could outlaw stupidity.

Seems we're at an impasse. Dumb luck, that.
