You downplay the 'furniture' while ignoring the fact that 'the gun' IS the lower rcvr.

    We do

Once again, please state the statutes that LEO need to "enforce" to prevent crime

That's why we should enforce the law that says you can't, see above.

Which law do you see that needs enforcing more ?

What evidence do you have that people are breaking these laws and not being punished ?

Though you downplay the function of the barrel, but like the sights, it can be substituted.

    The rest is "furniture"

Yes and you need to assemble around factory machined parts.

You can also make the parts. Read up on CNC machinery, and 3D printing. Technology has made gun control impossible.

My understanding is that you still need specialist machinery.

Gun control is perfectly possible - in the UK, most illegal guns are still smuggled in, not home made.

You do not need special machinery, or special skills. As I said, look into CNC machinery and 3D printing. Making gun parts is not rocket science. People do it all the time in their workshops. Peasants sitting in a hut in Bangladesh, the Philippines, etc., turn out thousands of illegal guns per year.

You're right, though, that most illegal guns in the UK are currently smuggled in. But that is changing as the new technologies become more widespread. In California, 1/3 of all illegal guns seized from criminals are "ghost" guns, (as they are called by law enforcement). Gun control is fast becoming unworkable.
