Your spot on, I choose not to have a gun in my home. If others feel they need a gun in there home, I will support there 2nd Amendment Rights.

I dislike guns in my home, not the 2nd Amendment.

Exactly. Has no effect either way. To your point, Alaska has a pretty high murder rate, and liberal gun laws, and Maryland has some of the most restrictive gun laws, and Baltimore , where I live has the highest murder rate of all the big cities. Vermont has liberal gun laws, and is one of the safest places in the country to live.
I was speaking as if I was a gun novice, and on the fence about owning one, it may discourage me. I shot a shotgun when I was 14, and was trained in the Marine Corps at 18. I've owned guns my whole life.

Correct I didn't say it was written by Sun Tzu. Obviously Rich asked why I read Mao's "Little Red Book" and the reason is in the Sun Tzu quote.

No, I didn't assume Rich would leap to a wrong conclusion, but given his history on this forum, it would have been a good bet for the reason I posted above: He often sees what he wants to see and not the truth.

COMMON SENSE. Those two words just don't go well together. I have 3 firearms (not an arsenal)with about 1000 rounds (not an ammo dump)each and they have not hurt anyone or me. I did lose some skin on a slide though.

This is the problem with the typed word. Differing voice inflection, meter, pausing, isn't apparent at times. I don't believe you or D.U. are lying or misrepresenting anything. I think it was a misunderstanding. I think D.U. was referring to the Sun Tzu quote about knowing your enemy, that led him to read Mao's book, considering Mao was our enemy. JMHO
