What "well regulated" means in the 2nd Amendment

Not quite. See post #89

Alright, although I would have to disagree with people over 45 not being part of the militia since in this day and age people often do stay able bodied and well fit way past the age of 45.

Yep...just show up and ask politely. I would recommend whoever shows up to confiscate them have a nice time with their family the night before though. We wan't everyone to be relaxed on confiscation day.

Yep. Say yes sir when you hand them.over

I don't plan on doing anything...

Then explain how...

there are millions of people like me that will never allow it

...if you don't even plan to get off your couch ?

...at some point you will need to come take them from me and millions of people just like me. You will run out of confiscators by noon on the first day. All I need to do is sit in my living room

So now it seems you WILL allow the 2nd amendment to be repealed and guns banned...

And you'll stand in line to hand in your guns...or face jail and lose your guns anyway.

Or are you some big tough guy who's watched too many Bruce Willis movies....and will behave like the citizens in La after hurricane Katrina and hand over your guns when the police knock on your door ?

I mean you wouldn't be threatening to kill law enforcement officers would you ?

A permit for what, owning a gun? That would make gun ownership into a privilege. Gun ownership is not a privilege as defined by the Constitution its a right.

I have a voter registration card, does that make voting merely a privilege ?

I'm 65 (66 in May) and very well armed. I still hunt caribou and moose, and I'm loaded for bear every time I go fishing for salmon. I have been armed since 1964 at the age of 10, and also served in the Marine Corps from 1972 until 1980, and I have been armed ever since. I'm pleased that I can no longer be drafted by government to serve in a military capacity. You certainly aren't going to see me running around like some 18 year-old, because I no longer have the strength or the endurance. However, I am just as accurate now as I was when I earned my Expert marksman badge from the Marine Corps when I was 18. Caribou I can handle on my own, but I need help with taking a moose these days. Thankfully, in Alaska beginning at age 65, you can have people proxy hunt for you.

You asked what I would do. I said I would sit on my couch and wait. Very calmly I might add.

Its one of the flaws in our system. Voting is a right, it should not require registration.

Oh I plan on being very polite. I may even offer them some coffee and not the cheap stuff either. No need to make it more uglier than it needs to be right?

Yes and then you politely hand them over

Good point.

If you have a right to bear arms, the government should provide you with one...you don't pay the vote.

Spare me the "I support guns" lefty BS. We all know you don't otherwise you wouldn't be here spewing lefty BS out like your well regulated comment. Talk about juvenile. That's no 2nd amendment supporter...thats lefty guy pretending to support guns. You don't. And spare me what others think of me crap. I'm not a beta. I've never given any thought to who "is solidly beside me here" nor do I care if they are or aren't. People are entitled to think what they want same as me.

Guess what, Rambo. Here, where I live, pretty much every house contains at least one liberal and at least one gun. My house contains two of each. For now. Pretty sure I've decided to give my deer rifle to my son.
Not your fault you can't contribute to a discussion on a higher-than1juvenile level, but it is your fault you keep beaking off in such cringe-worthy fashion. People who don't know you and don't care about not knowing you get a little embarrassed on your behalf by some of the stuff that comes out of you.

Just to stay on-topic, you mean we're talking about a different regularity? Closer to regulation, you mean?

You asked what I would do. I said I would sit on my couch and wait. Very calmly I might add.

Yeah, good plan for "never allowing" the 2nd amendment to be repealed.

Frankly that's all you'll do.

Untill it's time to drive to the police station and meekly hand your guns in when they call your number.

Lol...Jesus. Oh yeah....lefties are bustin caps off now and heading off to the shooting ranges. Dude...don't lie.

Also this is the second time you are attacking me personally. Who likes me personally and who doesn't is not your concern nor a thread topic.

The 2nd wont be repealed. There are more of us everywhere than there is of the gun grabbers. Thats why lefties need to try to regulate them out of our homes.

The 2nd wont be repealed....

And you and millions like you sitting on your respective couches ensures that...

Because the gun lobby crowd fear you - why would that be

Ah, you're paranoid the the gun control lobby are out to get you and turn you into a liberal....with a socialist, green new deal agenda...next they'll make apple pie illegal.

LOL... His credentials consist of a youtube video and an MS in History... hardly sufficient to qualify for any kind of an expert on the meaning of the 2nd amendment....

He presents a hell of a lot better argument than you do.

So is free speech, but you need a permit to march or demonstrate.

The permit is for having large crowds of people in public areas, not for speaking freely.

Kind of. When Repubs had their convention here in MN in 08, there were "free speech zones" where you could do whatever, but outside of the barricades not so much. It was a limit on free speech. Demos probably have something similar, i don't know. So we accept limitations on that right, why is the right to own guns unlimited?

The right to own guns is not unlimited. You can't own large artillery. But a citizen should be able to own anything in the category of small arms.

Shooting range? You won't catch me near one. Can't stand them. If I want to sight my rifle I put a target on the back of my woodshed and I sure as hell won't pour money through the barrel because I like the noise it makes.
Guns are tools or they're toys. I know how to aim, I don't need to practice, I just want to be sure it'll shoot to where I point it.

As for personal attacks, yeah, I did. But I'm a liberal, and when you say liberals this or liberals that you're attacking me. I'll have to be more careful about delicate feelings and snowflakes around here in the future, I guess.
