Stuntwoman, husband reportedly killed in shootout with her ex and his new wife

A leading Hollywood stuntwoman was shot dead alongside her husband in a wild gun battle after they tried to ambush her ex-husband and his new wife at their home in Ohio, according to reports and authorities.
Cheryl Sanders, 59 — who appeared in “Back to the Future II” and has been a stunt double for Sandra Bullock, Cameron Diaz, Nicole Kidman and Jessica Alba — died alongside her husband Reed Sanders, 56, on Wednesday.
They traveled at least six hours from their home in North Carolina to confront the stuntwoman’s ex-husband, Lindsey Duncan, and his wife Molly outside their home in Yellow Springs, according to reports.
“All of a sudden, hell began,” Duncan told a press conference of the “absolute, total ambush” that sparked two gun battles with hundreds of shots fired.
Duncan ultimately shot dead his ex-wife and her husband, authorities say. He has not been charged during the ongoing investigation, with the case currently listed as a justifiable homicide, according to the Dayton Daily News.

I disagree. The right to self defense is as natural as the right to breathe. The 2nd Amendment was written to protect the country. The founding fathers couldnt even fathom the idiocy or corrupt nature of individuals that would attempt to ban people from the ability to protect themselves or the right to hunt. Relying on a government entity for protection of self and family? The founding fathers would literally take a **** on anyone that would suggest such a thing.

That being said...I'm glad for those two that they exercised their right to self defense.

OH my... The BAD guys are dead. The intended victims are alive today because they exercised their 2nd amendment right and were able to protect themselves.

“The most difficult of this whole process — besides listening to my wife say, ‘I’m going to die, they’re going to kill me’ — is having to tell my two daughters that their mother’s been shot,” Duncan said of the girls he shared with his dead ex-wife, according to Dayton 24/7 Now.

Heart breaking. He was forced to kill the mother of his children, ostensibly a women he once loved. What a totally fugged situation.

No, they're dead because they pulled some stupid **** and lost. If they had chosen not to go up against that dude, they would still be alive. They made their choice and paid the price. Tuff **** for them. The only sympathy I have is for their families.

As macabre as it seems, I actually agree with you.

To many the consequence of being executed is too removed from their consciousness.

Dylan Roofe didn't care about being executed when he murdered the church goers...he sure as hell does now as he virtually begs for a please deal with a life sentence.

If there were public executions, the disconnect would-be murderers have with execution would be removed and the fear of it, as a very real punishment, might stay in their minds

I would also encourage schools to arrange visits to prisons.
What's point of a deterrent if criminals only understand it and it's consequences after the crime ?

An incident like that in Western Europe would've ended with an innocent man being murdered, because he didn't have any way to defend himself against an ambush by two attackers.

Ridiculous. If it was the UK they would have gone after each other with machetes. Criminals in the EU could get access to guns, its in the black market, while law abiding citizens would have no defense.

Agreed. Better to have to attempted-murderers killed than a double homicide.

It appears this was over money. Unless they were completely nuts, this could be an attempt to murder Duncan and have the insurance money go to the daughters.

The initial investigation indicated that after the first alleged assailant was shot, the ex-wife also arrived, armed, and was killed in an exchange of gunfire, Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer said....

...A man who described himself as a close confidant of Reed Sanders in North Carolina told the newspaper that Reed and Cheryl Sanders had traveled to Ohio to confront Duncan in an ongoing dispute. They were fighting over college funds for Lindsey and Cheryl's daughters, said the friend, Adrian King.

Agreed. Machetes, baseball bats, run them down with a car. Murder is murder. It's stupid to think murders, or suicides, would stop if a Totalitarian Socialist rule was imposed on the United States as some here advocate.

The first report was probably wrong about hundreds of rounds. More like a couple of dozen at most.

Well, in clothes then, just blame the car. Surely cars know better than to carry guns?
