Klobuchar: Mandatory gun buybacks is not gun confiscation

Those who think that the 2A has anything to do with hunting should not be elected to any office. The idea that congress can decide that X type of gun is not useful (necessary?) for hunting thus it should be banned are sadly misinformed.

They know. It's just a narrative they feed to their egghead base.

Not many people are so willing to go to jail as you claim.

I'd bet you'd cry like a baby if a judged sentenced you to do time.

You have to know first.

Why ?

There's nothing in the 4th amendment giving anyone a right to a gun.
But there is something in the 4th amendment about the rights against unlawful search and seizure. Police would have to kick in every door in America and search every house that's a dictatorship if you want that moved to North Korea it's already there that's everything you want.

So you can't back up your claim.

What a shock.

You only ever post unsupported personal opinion even when you're presented with sources contradicting you

You even go so far as to say you, with no legal training or experience at all, know more than a Supreme Court justice about the Constitution !

I observed that there is no language in the constitution forbidding any state from leaving the union. Your vaunted supreme court justices haven't quoted any prohibition.

I would simply make any home made gun illegal and seize accordingly and send you to prison for a long time.
someone with a homemade gun would simply blow your brains out and then you could seize nothing. It would be worth it for him to try because if he's going to jail for a long time anyway he might as well take you out with him. And i would cheer such a person on. That's called a freedom fighter.
Would the threat of that stop you making guns ?
No the threat of death doesn't stop it.

What you would have to do to eliminate everyone who owns guns is exterminate them. They'll just do it illegally and they should.

Doesn't matter what she calls it. If it's mandatory...it's confiscation.

Typical political BS. CALL it something else, abortion, womans right to choose, pro-choice. Gun confiscation, buyback.

But such searches would be lawful and the only thing seized would be illegal weapons.

Made illegal by the amendment that's repealed the 2nd amendment. So it would be 100% constitutional.

But I'd have a bulletproof shield with me....

Lethal injection or hanging ...or life without parole

And i would cheer such a person on. That's called a freedom fighter.

I am guessing you're no longer a cop

You must have been rooting for David Koresh...one of his fans was so bummed out when he lost that he blew up a government building in Oklahoma City

What is your evidence of this ?

That you make home made guns...your door is amongst the first the SWAT team breaks down.

:lamo. Good luck with that. :naughty :D

No you wouldn't have to have a warrant to search.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

So you first must have probable cause as to the 4th amendment. the fact that they're a person and they have a house is not probable cause.

No I'm not a cop and I wouldn't root for David koresh. He was not a freedom fighter. But people who try to trample rights must be stopped by lethal means if they insist. That's why liberty exists. The only reason you have the right to safe the nonsense you're saying here it's because someone in the past kill the people that thought you shouldn't.

And if you don't recognize that then you don't understand or believe in the Constitution at all.

No you wouldn't have to have a warrant to search.

Not if the Constitution said you didn't need one but I doubt such a directive would be made.

The police would apply for a search warrant, citing their probable cause and they get it issued by a judge

For the THIRD time:

Didn't you say you graduated from police academy ?

....but people who try to trample rights must be stopped by lethal means if they insist...

You see, most normal people would make a police complaint or hire a lawyer rather than gunning other people down.

...the only reason you have the right to safe the nonsense you're saying here it's because someone in the past kill the people that thought you shouldn't.

I was a member of such a proud organization; the 25th Regt of Foot, then the Intelligence Corps.

Not if the Constitution said you didn't need one but I doubt such a directive would be made.
you would have to repeal the 4th amendment in order for it to say that.

What probable cause?

What probable cause?

Oh jeez, did you not say you graduated from a police academy ?

Let's see from the top of my head:

1. Membership (past or present) of a gun club or association like the NRA
2. Membership or customer of a gun range
3. Purchaser of on-line gun accessories
4. Purchaser of on-line ammunition
5. CCW holder
6. Record of felony involving guns
7. Purchased ammunition, guns or accessories from a store using a credit card
8. Owner of a gun shop or range
9. Provider of gun classes
10.Ever had a stall at a gun show
11.Ever registered ownership of a gun
12.Ever reported using a gun (for whatever reason like self defense)
13.Tip offs from the public

Note: none of these PROVE you have a gun or guns

BUT they give law enforcement grounds to argue reasonable cause and get a search warrant.
