"A career criminal - who reportedly has a girlfriend working for the NYPD - shot two cops in separate incidents this weekend while out on parole for an attempted murder conviction in 2002.

Robert Williams is believed to have shot at two cops in a patrol car in the Bronx Saturday night and he was taken into custody 12 hours later on Sunday morning after shooting Lt. Jose Gautreaux in the upper left arm, narrowly missing a vital structure.

Video shows Williams - who was arrested on murder charges in 1992 and 2002 and paroled from prison in 2017 after an attempted murder conviction - giving up mid-attack on the 41st precinct station staff after his gun ran out of bullets.

NYPD communications technician Liza T Valdez is believed to be his girlfriend and she was reportedly in custody on Sunday afternoon.

"A New York City police lieutenant was shot in the arm Sunday morning after an armed suspect opened fire inside a Bronx precinct about 12 hours after another officer was shot in the head while on patrol nearby, police authorities said.

The 8 a.m. incident took place in the 41st Precinct in the Longwood neighborhood of the Bronx, where the suspect walked in and began firing at the front desk, Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said at a news conference later in the day."
