They make you register as a driver

They make you register your car....no howling of outrage from the pro-car lobby.

people are presumed innocent until convicted. Criminals obtain guns all the time. nothing you propose will limit or stop that. I think you know that but you have to pretend that is your goal. I don't think your real goal is preventing violent crime

really? real AK 47s that are fully automatic? Yes, you can but its not something most people can do. I have seen two illegal AK 47s. I have seen several dozen legal ones. None were for sale

1) its a revenue thing applied to an item that you do not have a constitutional right to operate on public property

2) no one is trying to ban cars

I saw a YouTube video of a reporter in Phoenix who bought an AK-47 about 30 minutes after seeing an ad on Craigslist.
She met some guy (with a local PI she was interviewing) in a parking lot.

And China makes a lot of AK-47's in semi-only for export.

Since you say there is zero chance of a gun ban, why the fear of a gun registry ?

2) those aren't real AK 47s.

I suggest you actually learn about this subject because you will keep getting schooled by those of us who do

if people like you outbreed people who support freedom, who knows what will happen. Personally, I think we will have a civil war on firearms and when it is over, the anti gun movement will no longer exist

Well if you want to be picky, Russia hasn't made any AK-47's for a long time.

It was replace by the AKM

Which was replaced by the AK-74

Which was replaced (sort of) by the AK-74M

I know that and your claim how easy it is to buy a real AK 47 was specious. and those style rifles are rarely used in crime.

You appear to have made a seismic change in your position of "it will NEVER happen.

I support freedom, I just don't support the right to own guns, not too thrilled by all of the first amendment either.

Australia is a really good example. There was a mass shooting. They implemented laws to reduce gun violence, and that's what happened.

That's not the point though, they can be and they'd make a hell of a choice for a mass shooter.

Weren't AK-47 clones used in the North Hollywood bank raid ?
