VA Gov declares state of emergency

Gov "Coonman" Northam has declared a state of emergency ahead of a planned pro gun protest next week. Personally I dont believe there is any creditable threat. With more and more cities passing 2nd Amendment Sanctuary resolutions Gov "Coonman" is doing his best to deny people their first amendment rights so he can erode away their 2nd Amendment rights. The way he keeps throwing gas on this violance will eventually break out. If it does responsibility should fall on his shoulders.

Suppression of rights is the first way to start a civil disobedience.
He will be a 1 term Gov. for sure if he keeps this up.

In VA governor can only serve one term then must wait a term and run again. But this will be the end of Coonmans political career for sure. He can return to his blackface and Michael Jackson impersonations

yeah i loved how leftist were quick to brush that under the rug as quickly as possible and act like it never happened.
even if they pass it the sheriffs office in multiple places have said they won't enforce it.

i also see it getting shot down in court as unconstitutional.
also assault rifles are already banned and you need federal permission to own one.

No doubt, you know as much about the law as you do about possession of “assault” style/type firearms, which are not banned. :doh

What you (or me) believes is irrelevant.

After what happened in Charlottesville, Governor Northam would be grossly derelict if he didn’t ban firearms from the upcoming rally.

its a made up term mainly pushed by bannerrhoids to try to pretend that criminal "assault" is what those firearms are designed for.

There is no suppression of rights. The 2nd Amendment doesn’t guarantee the right to carry firearms anywhere and everywhere. But of course you wouldn’t know that.

During Coonman's press conference that he tried denying it was him in the photo he admitted to wearing blackface and entering a MJ impersonation contest and almost moonwalked until his wife stoped him.

He said "assault rifles", you said "assault-style/type firearms". They are not the same thing.

Excellent point-Democrats tend to see white male gun owners as their political enemies and that is why they push laws designed to harass such people, while never talking much about the massive black on black murder rate-that usually doesn't involve "assault weapons" and almost always take place in Democrat party run inner cities.It is why Democrats and leftwing operatives such as the NAACP and the ACLU OPPOSED GOP policies that directed state prosecutors send violent felons caught with firearms to the federal prosecutors' offices where said armed felons would get more time behind bars since 18 USC 922 tends to require more jail time than state statutes.

clearly Democrats aren't about punishing violent criminals with guns but rather criminalizing currently legal behavior of people who don't cause much crime at all

you are comparing 60's california with current Virginia? why do democrats ignore thousands upon thousands of blacks who are killed in Democrat run cities when they howl about guns?

To be fair, the only reason TX banned OC and made a permit system in the first place was to prevent minorites from being armed.

first and foremost i dont support what VA is trying to do to guns, every state should be open carry and my LTC should be nationally recognized

but with that sad, What if the threats are credible though?

If the state did nothing and major violence broke out who would be at fault and to blame for ignoring multiple credible threats?

ludin also said that Northam would be a 1 term governor (VA Governors are restricted from immediate reelection so re-election wasn’t going to happen anyway), and that assault rifles are banned, then immediately contradicted himself, saying “you need federal permission to own one”, so what’re the chances that he knows the government’s definition of an assault rifle?
