No he is talking about the part under section 18.2-308.8 that makes possession a crime, turning thousands of Virginians into felons simply for having a boogeyman’s gun in their collection. I personally think it’s bull****. The state would be better served by making the use of a gun in commission of a crime carry an added mandatory jail term.

To be honest, he has. I am very conservative on the second amendment and TD has called me out on many of my compromising views. For example I have stated that I while I "don't" want limits placed on the second amendment I am willing to deal with things like mandatory registration. TD is not and has called me out on that fact many of times. I may not be "the right" but on the second amendment I consider myself to be and I am far more conservative than liberal on the second amendment. I despise many of TD's political views, but your statement is just not correct.

I also disagree with the premise that only slave states wanted the second amendment.

This is how I view it as well. Open carry is one thing, concealment is another. I don't think it is a infringement on the 2nd amendment to require training and/or competency for conceal and carry. I am 100% for open carry though, we have that in Nevada.

Personally, I don't think it should be repealed and if allowed to vote on such a thing I would vote "no" outright. I am a supporter of open carry like we have in Nevada where I live, but I do think training should be required for conceal and carry.

I will state I have NEVER seen you support GUN BANS. I do note that politically, you seem to see many pro gun advocates as people who you generally don't agree with on other issues. This sometimes causes some to think that since you oppose the mainline pro-rights posters, you must support the anti gun posters. I will note you do not.

This is the Common law for the Common defense, secured by our Second Article of Amendment to our federal Constitution:

The defense and protection of the state and of the United States is an obligation of all persons within the state. The legislature shall provide for the discharge of this obligation and for the maintenance and regulation of an organized militia.

No, they just hate that fact that gun owners tend to oppose the Democrat party. The National Party in the RSA didn't hate Blacks either, I suppose.
