I've heard of this happening in the Middle East but never in the USA.

Don't people realize that their bullets come down somewhere and are still potentially lethal ?

You seem to think it is legal gun owners that are shooting into the air, we both know who enjoys that activity and it isn't people that obey the law. So go get their guns, good luck, you will need it

that sort of discharging of weapons is illegal just about everywhere. Of course you want to pass MORE laws to harass gun owners, rather than actually enforcing laws on the books.

it would actually be pretty easy for the cops to find out who is doing that.

It doesn't matter who was shooting. Don't you get it ? Current gun control pr lack of isn't working. That woman is DEAD.

How do your precious guns protect you from this ?

Yes, it actually does matter, because your solution would not stop this sort of illegal behavior.
Who said it would, this type of activity is not why I own firearms. Think harder and longer next time.

They said they were going around looking for shell casings. In any event, it's sad that a woman died on New Year's, due to the stupidity of some morons. I enjoyed being trashed and lighting fireworks last night, and it sucks to hear that someone had to lose their life because of another idiot.

the military and some civilian police departments, have devices that can triangulate where a shot came from. If there is a neighborhood where people are blasting away at midpoint, you just need to assign a few cops with that device to the area

The solution is to ban guns (and of course ammunition).

A ban on guns means no "celebratory" fire.

that's stupid because most people won't comply with a registry and criminals are exempt. you keep demanding a registry because you want to ban guns and a registry forces an affirmative action on citizens

Gun owners are long on big talk and derogatory statements, low on reasoned argument or substantive facts.

Laws did not prevent this.
