A military veteran working as a clerk at a Bay Point market fatally shot an armed robbery suspect late Sunday night after being pistol-whipped in a violent attack caught on camera.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police believe the smoke shop owner who killed two of three robbers at his store did everything under the law.
Late Friday night, just minutes before closing, the Smoke N Vape shop clerk saw a nightmare walk in.
"Three suspects, all wearing dark clothing and hoodies and masked up with masks or cloth type material, had entered the location to rob it and at least one of those suspects was armed with a handgun," said Lt. Larry Bowlan.

A weekend shooting that left a man dead outside a DeKalb County gas station was justified, and the gunman will not face charges, police said.
According to an incident report obtained Monday by AJC.com, authorities got to the Texaco on Gresham Road just before 7 p.m. Saturday and found 22-year-old Brian Jackson-Swinney face down with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

It was either this or fashion reporting at the red carpet....apparently I lack people skills or some silly f****d up s**t that makes people cry when I talk about how completely jacked up thier Gold Lamé tee shirt looks under thier pretentious Armani Tux and scuffed hiking boots.

Probably the same for the same reason you never post about someone using a gun to prevent a crime.

I personally like getting both sides of a position and all information to make an informed opinion on a subject.

If more clerks carried guns maybe there would be less armed robberies. Dead perps don't usually repeat their crime.

Actually no that is a poorly written article. It doesn't give any type of description of the suspect to aide in his identification. IMO it was more important for the reporter to play up the fear angle over a shooting than it was to report key details about the shooter to help aide in his capture and prevent another shooting from happening.

Dead clerks usually don't come back to work


There are several reasons banks tell employees (not armed guards) to not fight back against a robber.

So true!

A while back, one of those high-crime Eastern cities ( no need to name it) wanted to prohibit stores from installing glass windows between the clerk and the customer.

A glass window might hurt the feelings of some community members, the activists said. (I kid you not.)

I do not know whether the proposal was ever implemented or not. Some store owners (who were primarily immigrants) said that they would have to go out of business if forced to comply with that proposed law.

Much better. Hope that if the alleged shooter is found guilty he will receive the death penalty for his actions. It was good to hear that bystanders rushed to help the cop and that a go fund me account has been set up to help his family.

But this kind of incident doesn't seem to happen in countries where guns are banned.

The don't fight back strategy has never worked so people are swinging over to a do fight back mindset. Besides people love those videos of crooks getting what they deserve from the guy behind the counter.

That is why we need guns for self defense and to protect families. The reality of guns and crimes is here to stay in the USA. The monster is out.
