Merry Christmas to you and your family

Eye candy.

I sold my Ruger SP101 recently and have been hawking all the gun sites.

I don't have a single gun in the house now since I gave my son's 1911 back to him.

I have one in .357.
I just ordered a 9mm.
You need a handgun

Have you ever bought a gun for cash at a gun show ?

If so, did you get any value ?

I have and yes I got a good deal on it. The guy was looking to sell his gun at a booth I offered more than they would pay but it was still cheaper than the same model I had planned to buy used.

Generally speaking though I rarely buy a gun at a show, better deals can usually be found with a little looking. Gun shows are great for trying out diffrent types of guns because they have a lot of variety. Plus the none gun booths are fun to look at. Bought a guitar at a guns show before.

I was looking for a Lee-Enfield SMLE III and I found one for only $250. It was because it was so cheap that I was put off.

Trouble is few gun shops actually carry historical guns.

You don't need a military grade firearm.

A firearm made over 100 years ago is hardly "military grade".
Nope it was used by the military so it's a military grade. Besides you dont want people to own firearms so lead by example and dont get one. There oa no need for you to own that weapon.

However if you choose to your best bet is to look at classic firearm sites and check out the next gun show that comes to town. The ones in my area usually have one or to sellers specializing in arm surplus firearms.

No, it may have been at one time but not now

It's like saying a Brown Bess musket or a Civil War era Enfield rifled-musket is military grade. It's not

No one has a "need" for anything they wish to collect.

That's what I mean, gun shows are really your / my only source to handle an antique weapon.

Which might fall apart on me at the range.

I have an old Russian Mosin that still works perfectly.

If the rifle you bought falls apart either you did something seriously wrong or bought junk from a shady dealer.

I fear there could be more than a few and the gun show circuit.

Why? They make their living selling quality firearms. If they sell junk and get a bad rep they will soon be out of a job.

Sure some dude in the parking lot that will not let you see ot touch the rifle should be avoided, but a reputable seller will allow you to look it over and provide you with a quality product.

I fear there is little or no recourse to complain if they sell me a lemon....or a rifle that's fit only to mount in a display.

If you have any friends who know anything about firearms invite them along to help.

Have you ever been to a gun show

Yes a couple of times. I got the feeling I stood out from the crowd, like being a stranger in a bar full of locals.

No, I know no-one with any knowledge of antique guns.

Hmmm a nice little .38 wheel gun for $275?
I may just spring for one of those, cheap, reliable and effective, simple to clean and use.
I also love the laser sight for the Taurus, which will fit my Taurus just fine.

Thanks for the heads up, gun owning libtards appreciate good deals, too!

Yup. I’ve had a S&W 642 for years, and added a set of CT laser grips.
I carry it with 125g +P JHP .38 rounds.
Great carry gun.

Well, maybe if Republicans in California get off the war against the enemy gambit and go back to just being solid conservatives, maybe we can finally work on a solution that reverses the age old Mulford Act of 1967 which might at least allow qualified vetted law abiding persons to conceal carry.
Personally I do not think it will be impossible, or even difficult, but it WILL require Dems and Republicans working together to get over that hump.

So, right now, with all the hostilities, it may be impossible for the time being, but I continue to hope.
And I will again state for the record that I prefer having "a loyal opposition" in all state legislatures, because all political entities are susceptible to corruption when unchallenged, and a loyal opposition also keeps the party in power honest, and at least somewhat humbled.

Plenty of California liberals would be okay with a reasonable concealed carry law.
No, not the ultra liberals, but plenty of typical ordinary ones, like every liberal neighbor I know in my neighborhood in Whittier for example, all of whom already own guns for security use in the home.
