Virginia Democrats float prosecution, National Guard deployment if police don't enforce gun control

Refuse to enforce immigration laws.
Threaten to use the National Guard to confiscate guns.
Sane folks on the right have warned about this for decades, and we're laughed at.

Chill. That was one representative talking out of his keister.

Not in Virginia. Ironically, somehow the cities in Northern VA manage to have less than a 10% of the homicide rate of Washington, DC, despite the fact that the latter has some of the strictest gun laws in the country.

our country has a firearm homicide around every 54 minutes. the US National firearm death rate is 11.8 (per 100,000). VA is 12.1.

Virginia has a vehicle crash death rate of 9.9, and a firearm homicide rate of 3.1. Which do you think is a bigger problem and more worthy of passing stricter laws or calling out the National Guard to address?

interesting how you posted what you thought was true, got busted, then started talking about cars.

now like that's unique in this debate or anything.

What did I post that I got busted on? I think you're the one who got busted, conflating suicides with homicides.

dude. go back and actually read what i typed.

then read what you typed and why you changed to "cars".

Here's what you typed.

So, in other words, you started talking about firearm homicides and then switched to overall firearm deaths, probably hoping nobody would notice.

I didn't "switch" to cars. I compared the number of firearm homicides to the number of highway deaths to put your breathless citation of firearm homicide statistics and all that you seek to imply by it in context.

The firearm homicide rate is going down. The gun ownership rate is going up. More guns = more safety for the citizenry.

and we still have a firearm homicide around every 54 minutes. since this thread was started last night that means around 17 people (moms, dads, kids, girlfriends, etc) have died. from firearm homicide.

that kind of frequency (as if it's good or something) is never something that people should brag about.

Don't know if there's any point in taking this fight on now. The next Democratic president needs to beef up the BATF and then come down hard on all these fat Bubbas and Jim Bobs who are pretend Rambos. They'll wet their pants when you show up to their house with a full team to take their military-grade weapons but you have to put the fear in them and not just send letters asking them nicely to hand in their AR500s.

If the government makes my guns "illegal", I'll just call 'em "undocumented" and keep them anyway.

Which is probably what most folks will do.
I'm guessing most guns will be "confiscated" when suspects are arrested for other crimes.
The threat of massive fines might deter illegal gun ownership.

glad to see that leftwing gun banners are essentially fascists. They also want other people with guns to carry out their wet dreams

don't worry. the country is still gonna have a firearm homicide every 54 minutes.

Thank goodness.
At least some American traditions will continue.

Cherry picking in the extreme. The murder rate in this country has fallen dramatically in the last 30 years, notwithstanding the "Ferguson Effect."
Completely idiotic comment.

apdst made an erroneous claim. I provided proof to the contrary.

Interesting things going on in Virginia as Democratic scum prepare pass a host of new gun control laws:

'The law is the law': Virginia Democrats float prosecution, National Guard deployment if police don't enforce gun control

Most of Virginia is against what these wannabe tyrants are doing:

Gun Rights Watch - Virginia has become an overnight tidal wave of Second Amendment Sanctuaries

It will very interesting to see how this plays out.

Let Northram and the democrats try. I'd like to think the democrats are not that stupid, but I'm not absolutely sure.

What do you think will happen if the National Guard attempts to enforce the law in Virginia?

At least 50% of the Virginia National Guard will refuse the order.

More than 50% privately own guns.

More county sheriffs than not have pledged to not enforce the law.

It won't happen.

The National Guard is supposed to do exactly what?

The National Guard will not go house to house to collect guns....................period!

1/2 of the Guard wouldn't show up.

There are several possibilities:

1. The state adjutant general could refuse to carry out the order.

2. A significant portion (I estimate at least half) of the troops, officers included could refuse to carry out the order.

3. Trump could federalize the VNG and order the adjutant general to stand down.

#'s 1 and 2 are probable since there will be violence and the troops aren't going to fire on their own people to enforce an unconstitutional law.

Me? I hope governor blackface is stupid enough to deploy the NG to enforce his anti-gun laws. Let's go ahead and bring this **** to a head and settle it.

Virginia has 95 counties and 38 cities. Over 75 have declared themselves sanctuaries, with more sure to follow. This is not a winner for the gov or the democrats. Many of which have a desire to get reelected in those 75 counties.

My best guess is that there will be a lot of bluster until the house is in session, but the issue will never come to the floor.

And the ones who do go along with it might find their houses getting burned down.

I will DOX every single Democrat "from dog catcher to every (D) in Richmond"......................right out of the Democrat playbook.
