Another Good Guy with a Gun...

Would Alabama count ?

All states, including Alabama, have laws that prohibit burglary (going into a building that belongs to someone else in order to commit a crime). A “home invasion” is a type of burglary, and involves going into someone else’s home in order to commit a crime, such as theft or assault. In Alabama, a home invasion may be charged as trespass (entering onto property without permission) or burglary (a more serious offense). Home invasion burglary carries very stiff penalties, and can be punished by up to life imprisonment. For general information on home invasions and related crimes, see Home Invasions, Burglary: Penalties and Sentencing, and Trespassing Penalties.

Nope.

Try again.

Burglary isn't home invasion, it's burglary

How can Home Invasion carry stiff penalties if it isn't a crime?

Because it isn't

Trespass or burglary are.

Intentional ignorance noted.

Alabama considers Home Invasion a crime.

You intentional ignorance of that fact is cute.

more silly attempts to smear all gun owners because of the stupidity of one. BTW I believe it is illegal to have a loaded rifle in a car. It is in Ohio even if you have a CCW. recent legal changes allow you to have loaded magazines in a bag, but not inserted in the firearm. So someone violated a law before the woman was shot

Not to mention how calamity makes it appear that the driver was out right murdered.

Well, I guess we can pretend this was about the car crash and not the AR15 in the asshole's hand.
If it were say a .38 revolver or 10/22 would you still be all Holy Roller self righteous or is it reserved for AR-15s?

2/3s of those deaths are suicide which makes your statement an even bigger pile of BS. The fact you dodged my previous question on the subject proves you know it is BS too.
Since calamity' a former "gun nut" (and yes some of us remember your gun in every room)he is well aware it's BS.

Why do gun owners not want to count suicides ?

I can't answer for others, but 1) banning guns won't stop suicides and 2) isn't suicide, like abortion, a personal choice? Do you want to ban suicides but not abortions? WTFO?

Let's see

In Alabama, a home invasion may be charged as trespass (entering onto property without permission) or burglary (a more serious offense)....

No it considers trespass and burglary crimes.

Lots of people who attempt suicide are overjoyed to have done so, and they were just going through a dark time in their lives

Something like 1 in 42 suicide attempts are successful

A gun is the most popular method in the USA

A gun is by far the most effective method of suicide.

So yes, banning guns who save lives.

Everyone here notice not a single word about better mental health care, suicide prevention assistance or anything else except banning guns?

People like Rich2018 are not about saving lives, they are all about control of the population. He's an elitist who claims he knows what is best for everyone else and seeks to use the full weight of the Federal government to push his elistist ideas upon everyone else. How can a person like this be trusted to run government?

A Home Invasion isn't a crime because there's no statute against it (in Alabama)

Burglary, theft, assault, robbery and rape are crimes because there are statutes against them. Why are you not getting this ?

Why is that OK with you, and not just another law designed to hassle patriotic Americans just exercising their Constitutional rights, and a slippery slope for Obama coming over and personally taking away your nail clippers?

Sure, mental health care but that comes afterwards usually - the bit where people surviving suicide attempts express joy at having done so.

Typical gun owners response to shift the blame on someone else.

If there were no guns, less people would die through suicide.

Assumption.

Japan has an extremely low firearm rate and suicides are far more per capita.

The real mental health crisis in this country is not about guns. It's about today's GOP and its policies.

The petition below was signed by over 65,000 mental health specialists from around the country in 2017:

"“We, the undersigned mental health professionals, believe in our professional judgment that Donald Trump manifests a serious mental illness that renders him psychologically incapable of competently discharging the duties of President of the United States. And we respectfully request he be removed from office, according to article 4 of the 25th amendment to the Constitution, which states that the president will be replaced if he is ‘unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.’”
