In this case, 3 kids under ten, a twenty nine year old wife and the scumbag husband who shot them all. One child, a sixth victim, is in surgery.

5 dead, including three boys under 10, after shooting at San Diego home | Fox News

Shakes head at another senseless slew of deaths brought about by our gun-obsession, which has clearly reached epidemic proportions.

another thread trying to smear gun owners with these incidents. Californian laws are a wet dream for gun haters. No private sales, waiting periods to buy handguns, magazine limits, bans on normal capacity magazines, and almost impossible to get CCW permits in the big cities. So why didn't all those laws you want to impose on the rest of the USA work?

Does Calamity know if the shooter-who committed suicide-owned the gun legally?

this is as much a mental health issue as anything else

tRump - at one time - expressed a willingness to work with democrats to expand access to mental health care. hope that was not an empty offer or a ship which has already sailed

Dead kids shot by daddy. I'd say the odds are pretty good this was a "good guy" with a gun, Turtle.

The information seems sketchy but it appeared to be a domestic violence issue where a restraining order was already in place and when it went off the rails one spouse shot the other, the kids and then committed suicide. Now, most people would say that is a clear sign of mental illness but I think it might not be so clear and the offender-now dead-might not have exhibited any signs of mental illness. I do note that domestic disturbances are often the most dangerous for police because domestic disputes create hard to read variables

It was a control issue. He was separated, she put an order of protection out on him. He came over to argue about some tools. And, BOOM! Everyone in the family ends up dead.

This is not something mental health experts will ever prevent. Rejected males kill. And, guns make it all that much easier. Simple as that.

Trying to smear???

They smear themselves daily with these acts of cowardice.

lol...and, the guy who killed his family? I know. Let's point a finger at the guy who started the thread.

so what is your purpose of starting this thread. Did you not read that this?

Dobbs said the man's wife obtained a restraining order against her husband, from whom she'd been separated from for some time, yesterday but it was unclear whether that restraining order had been served or whether the suspect was aware of it.

your definition of "good guy with a gun" suggests you are willing to expand that term to fit your anti gun agenda. BTW under Californian law, doesn't that disqualify the man from being armed (and of course it was illegal for him to murder his wife and family

30 years ago, when most people did not have guns, one could smooth these things over. Now? Boom!

Good guy with a gun: No prior violence, legal gun owner, non gangbanger. You know, the guys you say never kill anyone. Oh, wait. You said, "commit less than 1% of all violent acts."

Sorry if my thread pops your bubble.

your article doesn't support many of your claims so you are jus making stuff up

BTW why don't you tell the board what the purpose of this thread is

From your source:

Dobbs said the man's wife obtained a restraining order against her husband, from whom she'd been separated from for some time...

how mentally sound is someone who opts to shoot their kids?

He did it to hurt the wife, who he probably shot last. This is not all that uncommon.

It's safe to say a family guy with 4 kids will not have a felony record.

It's not uncommon. I doubt we can police all the crazy men in this country. And, odds are any one of them might flip if his wife kicks him out the door.

yes. and even harder than policing all of the mentally unstable people in our country is the task of securing all of the firearms

don't abandon the good because it is not perfect. tRump was willing to do something to help with mental health and we are fools to abandon that possibility

that is one of the most stupidest things I have ever seen. You don't know so you just make it up.

do you even know if there was any hint that mental illness was evident BEFORE the shooting?

Just saw this story on local news. Tragic as always. As I was watching it I wondered how long it would take some amoral gun-hater to use this tragedy for political fodder. Guess I know. Calamity never fails to swim the sewers, does he?

Didn't the NRA let him know that was a no go?
