Republicans aren't wrong about 'People with Metnal health Issues'

And why is that ? Why do you continue to dodge the question ?

Here it is again: Why should good drivers be forced to obey speed limits because of a few people who can't handle their vehicle above that speed ?

again, no one argues against restrictions on how you use gun. But that isn't what you want-you want to restrict ownership so private citizens cannot own guns.

The EQUIVALENT analogy is banning people from owning cars

No because car ownership is a necessity not a luxury like gun ownership.

And it's not an equivalent.

The question is why do a few irresponsible people cause a law to cover everyone?

When you can answer that, you'll begin to understand why people support banning guns.

how is car ownership a necessity? My brother is a resident of Tribeca, He doesnt own a car.

People who support banning guns are generally from these groups

1) hard core leftwing activists who see gun control as a way to punish conservative voters

2) pillow headed utopians who think banning guns will advance public safety

3) pimps in office who pander to voters-especially those in #2 or #4

4) ignorant people who think doing so will deter criminals

5)people how are worried about being shot by armed citizens-such as criminals

how is car ownership a necessity?

Come live in Atlanta and find out...

Or take a job as a salesman, fireman, cable TV tech, dog walker, window cleaner etc etc

What about victims or potential victims of gun crime ?

How about police officers dealing with the uncertainty they may not finish their shift alive ?

How about concerned parents ?

Businessmen nervous of armed robberies ?

Doctors who work long hours every weekend treating gun shot wounds ?

Everyday, ordinary people who don't want to live with the risk of being shot ?

all of those people have the police and the court system to protect their "rights" if they are harmed

your "right" to not be afraid is not a valid argument for restricting my right to be armed just as someone's right to be a virgin is not grounds to emasculate men in his or her geographic area.

Are you deliberately trying to look like an idiot

The argument is to PREVENT people from being harmed !!!

The threat of punishment for actually harming someone is all that is needed or acceptable in a free society. I'd hate to see your solution for preventing rape or pick-pocketing

Of course punishment is harming someone - it's why we call it punishment. From the verb "to punish"

You can of course teach prevention by teaching women how to be less vulnerable to rape - an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
However, what is your solution to preventing rape other that the threat of punishment by sending rapists to jail ? Would you focus on "educating" potential rapists ?

well your analogy would be registering penises at first and then emasculating all men-except those who work for the government

Only a rabid, conservative gun owner, clutching at straws, would equate gun registration as a means to combat gun misuse to registering a penis. Let's just say for the vast majority of males such ownership is implied.

Next you'll equate mandatory castration to gun confiscation. That a man who sees his guns confiscated is equivalent to a man whose been castrated.

you're the one who wants to punish people before they do anything wrong by seizing from them something you are worried they may misuse

Yes

And you're the one who says that the misuse in question is not a problem, or is a limited problem cured by increased education

Despite the casualty figures saying otherwise.

millions upon millions more guns in circulation-not a correlating increase in violence. I will never support restricting the freedom of people who don't abuse their gun ownership because you pretend that doing so will prevent those who intend to harm others from doing so

Because the majority of mass shooters were "honest, law abiding citizens" (like Stephen Paddock) until the day they decided not to be...and use their guns to kill and maim as many people as they can.

What is your point ?

I don't know why you are so hesitant to answer. Seems an easy question. I myself own a car, a pseudo-SUV, and a 3/4 ton heavy duty pickup truck. All of them are necessary.

See how easy that was?

OK, and your point about owning a vehicle is ?

I would assume so

I live in the Atlanta area and cars are essential here.

I'm glad you came around. Once you told me my truck wasn't necessary.

Of course, I do know people who don't own any car at all...

Maybe you use one definition of necessity for guns and another for cars.

Depends on you line of work

...of course, I do know people who don't own any car at all...

Maybe in a big city or they have a lot of good friends.

IDK how anyone here survives without a car.

..maybe you use one definition of necessity for guns and another for cars.

Nope, you need a car here (or access to one)

You don't need guns. I don't have a gun and I do survive.

It might not be terribly convenient to live without a car, but it is a fact that many people do so. My mother doesn't have a car and she's still kicking. I know a couple people that only have bicycles and even those are a convenience for them.

No....you're just equivocating between definitions of necessity.
