Thank you, and yes, it is unconstitutional. BTW the other comment he is talking about, he has not accurately reported and it was made over a year ago

what does that have to do with this gun issue? And it is not accurate either. It was merely in the context of the Kavanaugh hearing-as you well know

And not the 5th as it required people with illegally held gun to incriminate themselves by registering them ?

In truth a mandatory register violates no amendment.

For instance the 2nd amendment doesn't ban a registry. And also we allow the government to ban certain people from owning guns - the 2nd doesn't give the government the right to ban a released felon from owning a gun.

The 2nd amendment talks about "the people" not "citizens"

...I oppose registration for several reasons-one of them being that gun banners like you see it as a tool to help you achieve your goals...
I does make law enforcement easier

...gun registration does not do a single useful thing for gun owners

Helping law enforcement to solve/deter crime is not useful ?

sadly your understanding of constitutional law is weak=what part of the constitution properly delegates such a power to the federal government?

you cannot prove registration makes law enforcement easier. It makes confiscation easier-which is why you want it

You are on record as wanting to ban all guns

    you support registration

It is only logical that you think registration aids with banning/confiscation

What part of the Constitution gives the federal government the power to approve or ban drugs ?
What part of the Constitution gives the federal government the power to pass climate control laws ?

...you cannot prove registration makes law enforcement easier....
You claim registration would not, but you can't prove it

The ATF web pages states that requests to trace guns is of help to law enforcement as evidenced by the many requests for assistance BY LAW ENFORCEMENT.

...you are on record as wanting to ban all guns...
Yes, though I have said the law banning all guns could or should allow exceptions similar to British gun laws.

    ...you support registration...
Yes, until or when the 2nd amendment is repealed and guns are banned

...it is only logical that you think registration aids with banning/confiscation
It would help guns but if it were my call, I'd jump to repealing the 2ns amendment and banning guns from the get go

A register of approved guns could still be implemented though.
