(Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Supreme Court said it will keep a Second Amendment showdown on its argument calendar, even after New York City loosened the gun-transportation restrictions at the center of the fight.

Supreme Court Keeps New York City Gun Case on Argument Calendar

New York committed a serious overstep; Once the NY politico's realized their miscalculation was headed for SCOTUS, they quickly attempted to back track and revise their restrictions to avoid having to deal with the potential of a nasty loss in front of the Supreme Court.

Too little too late; if the SCOTUS had dismissed the case, NY could have gone back to eroding the Second Amendment....if not by the letter of the law, then certainly by undermining the spirit of it.....Now NY has no choice but to deal with whatever consequences come of their actions, and it could additionally serve notice to other like minded gun cities and states that are also looking to suppress the Second Amendment even further.

SCOTUS will hear this, and NY isn't happy about it; self inflicted wounds are always the most painful.

I guess we are gonna learn something about the 2 newest judges on the bench.

Under the original New York City rules, people with a licensed handgun at home were allowed to take it to one of seven shooting ranges in the city but almost nowhere else ... The residents who sued said the rules undercut their constitutional right to have a handgun in a house or apartment for self-protection. They said they wanted to be able to take their handguns to more convenient target ranges outside the city and, in the case of a Staten Island man, to his second home.

Remember, this is what leftists consider to be "reasonable" gun control.

The residents said even the revised regulations are too strict, forbidding a handgun owner from stopping on the way out of town, requiring written permission to take a weapon to a gunsmith, and precluding transport to a summer rental house.

These regulations are how the left "compromises" with gun owners.

This is good news.Hopefully the supreme court rules against New York City and any gun owners who were wronged sue the **** out of NYC.

Anti-2nd amendment trash think 2nd amendment advocates giving up their rights while anti-2nd amendment trash give up nothing is somehow a compromise. They either fail to realize or not care that because of the 2nd amendment I do not need the government's permission to transport and or purchase a gun.

NYC revised the regulations because they hoped the supreme court would drop it.If the supreme court dropped it then NYC could have waited until leftists or anti-2nd amendment trash made up the majority of the supreme court and then reenacted the ordinance.

It all starts when the anti Second Amendment radicals slowly try to convince everyone that a protected right is a privilege to be governed, regulated, and denied as they see fit.

Demand a background check, license, tax, etc...on any other constitutionally protected right and see what happens; the screams of outrage would be heard from coast to coast.

Want due process? Yeah, we are gonna need a $25 dollar fee for that.

1st Amendment? Sure....just fill out this form and register with the Government...I mean, its just a form, right?

Want to vote? No problem, just send in your background check in triplicate.

Dont want soldiers living in your home? Just fill out this 3rd Amendment exemption form, and a copy of your "freedom from tyranny" License.
