I'd say children are the last refuge of the scoundrel. Most idiocy today is justified as "doing it for the children" ON BOTH SIDES

ACTUALLY.. yes you do.. you absolutely do. Because the environmental conditions in Minnesota..may be such that there is no statistical difference between smokers and non smokers. It could be possible that cancer rates may be similar if say the environmental conditions in Minnesota are such that there is a similar variable (for example if all those living in Minnesota are exposed to carcinogens released into the air from manufacturing plants) that is cancer causing..

Comparing smokers in both Minnesota and Tahiti.. vs nonsmokers in both Minnesota and Tahiti.. would help cancel out the variable of the carcinogens from manufacturing plants.

Children are a useful go-to resort, yeah, but without breaking a sweat I could justify lots of kinds of extremism and violence by citing patriotism. Scoundrels of every stripe and odour can use it. An ANTIFA thug slingshotting rocks at riot police and an alt.right racist driving his car into a group of protesters can both claim to be motivated by love of country.

Uh - no. Would hope ALL Americans are patriotic. As for religion - that is another story altogether.

I think that peace officers should be forbidden from carrying guns. Guns kill people, and we don't want our peace officers killing people. Problem solved. You're welcome.

I love it when politicians call things like GLOCK 17s and AR 15 rifles WEAPONS OF WAR, yet those same politicians authorize "Peace officers" to carry "weapons of war"

Kinda like falsely claiming that anyone who wants responsible gun ownership laws is a 'gun banner.'. All that hyperbolic, over the top nonsense does is put responsible gun owners in a bad light. Gun nutters are responsible gun owners worst enemy.
