The Defense Argument

The obvious solution for those who want strict/stricter gun control laws would be to immigrate to New Zealand, or any other country that currently has such laws.

That's completely and utter a lie. I defy you to find any ANY evidence that even a small minority of gun owners think that its okay to shoot a fellow for making a sandwich without gloves.

Actually I think only the cartels have guns in Yemen. They don't want anyone else to have them and possibly fight back. Not Mexico either for the same reasons. Bolivia? Nicaragua?

In Yemen they are called Terrorist Organizations... not "cartels". ... and who is fighting back against a cartel even if armed? Do you have any idea what is happening down their? Assassinations of cops, judges, politicians... no cop is going into cartel held areas, even in force... same in Brazil, El Salvador, etc.

States with more guns have more gun related deaths...

So.. you don't have anything that proves your premise that even a small minority of gun owners think its okay to shoot a fellow for making a sandwich without gloves.

And yes.. people that use guns are more likely to have gun accidents... Duh... people that ride bicycles are more likely to have bicycle accidents.. than people that don't ride.

You do realize that the vast vast vast number of targets that gun owners shoot at are paper and steel targets in competition, practice and just plain fun. Not to mention the use of firearms for targeting legal species of game. The reality is that the vast vast vast majority of gun owners NEVER EVER target a human being. Even point a firearms at one..much less fire.

I compared Gun accidents with bicycle accidents and YOUR use of the statistic. Somehow in your hysterical rant.. you seem to think that shooting kids at a pre school is "an accident".

The fact is.. gun owners are more likely to be involved in a gun accident.. because well they own guns.

Just like a bicycle owner is more likely to be involved in a bicycle accident because they ride a bicycle.

It shows just how invalid your statistic of "gun accidents".. or "gun crime".. is.

The reality is that when you compare bike accidents to gun accidents... you will find that bicycle accidents are far far far more likely to happen. And more injuries happen to children with bicycles than with firearms.

The "self-defense" and Stand Your Ground arguments are being used more and more by people who are not in any real danger. It is used by gun owners that are out of control and end up shooting people for essentially no reason. Gun owners are quick to dismiss these guys are not law-abiding... but they were up to the point that they started shooting at unarmed people... so there goes that argument. Kids killed in accidental shootings are bad gun owners... except that they were great gun owners until that one moment... so there goes that argument.

Using "stand your ground" or castle doctrine as an excuse and actually successfully using it in court are two different things.
