The Defense Argument

Guns endanger more than they protect - CNN

The "self-defense" and Stand Your Ground arguments are being used more and more by people who are not in any real danger. It is used by gun owners that are out of control and end up shooting people for essentially no reason. Gun owners are quick to dismiss these guys are not law-abiding... but they were up to the point that they started shooting at unarmed people... so there goes that argument. Kids killed in accidental shootings are bad gun owners... except that they were great gun owners until that one moment... so there goes that argument.

The Stand Your Ground or Self-Defense arguments are really veiled green lights for Gun owners to just start shooting anybody that they want... even here, in these debate, I have had a couple of Tough Guy Wannabes challenge me to come and try to take their guns! Why? So these Wannabes can ****ing murder me! It is insane. Anybody wanting to own a gun should have to go through a Psychological Assessment and check-backs every five-years.

How does a society that wants to be peaceful control these animals?

I confronted someone who kicked through my upstairs door. I shot at him twice as he ran. If he had been armed when we were face to face, he would have been dead

No. I am saying that there are far to many people out there shooting people based off of an arrogant attitude that they can shoot people that do not deserve to be shot. It is on this site too... guy shoots a guy that broke in and made a sandwich... some here are like, "lucky it wasn't my house cause he would be dead," and "should have shot center mass"... just arrogant disgusting attitudes by precisely the people that should not be owning guns... but do.

So what's this story about a guy who was shot for making a sandwich? Is it this story? Man Shoots and Kills Restaurant Worker for Making His Sandwich Too Slowly

I must say, this customer was a psychopath and most definitely shouldn't've had a gun. He should've been put away before he killed the restaurant worker because its dangerous to have people like that running loose. But this did happen in France which has much stricter gun control than the USA.

If you had put in more range time and knew how to shoot, he would be dead.

We have a Second Amendment and should have no security problems in our free States.

Don't grab guns, grab gun lovers and regulate them well!

You make a good point. If someone is too dangerous to own a firearm legally, then they're too dangerous to be walking the streets.

Stats clearly support the argument that having a gun in the home increases your chances of being shot or shooting a loved one.
Obviously, they do. I suspect the number of people shot in their home when there were no guns in their home hovers around zero.

well that is true but many of the anti gun studies used homes where the occupants were unarmed and then suffered gunshot injuries with guns brought into the home by intruders. In other cases, the homeowners owned firearms but those guns were not used to harm them-rather, again, an intruder who was armed did the harm./

I bet we can find stats showing CCW increases your chances of shooting some guy who flipped you the bird on the highway too.

What stats? The ones that include suicides, or that don't exclude people who are knowingly engaged in criminal activity?

That was the subtle implication I was making...

Look if the guy making the sandwich was not carrying he was just asking for it

Sounds like you would be dead... I mean, you waited until he was running away, tried to shoot a guy in the back... AND MISSED?

You sound seriously lucky that you didn't shoot some innocent kid with your errant shots...

Look if the guy making the sandwich was not carrying he was just asking for it

Which is why everybody should have a gun... because you never know when you might need to shoot a person for no real reason.

If you had put in more range time and knew how to shoot, he would be dead.

Which is why you should not be armed... shooting people in the back is not something that we want to support.

wouldn't we need more information

Nope. Shooting people needs just an excuse... and he had one. Even if it means shooting a person that is no longer a threat... shoot the ****er.

We have a Second Amendment and should have no security problems in our free States.

huh?

Which is what the gun owners agenda really is... to start locking up innocent people that the deam, "a threat".

actually that is what real gun banners want (not those who pretend to be them on message boards). Passing laws that criminalize currently legal activity (such as owning AR 15s or normal capacity magazines)

Don't be so paranoid...

I am not dishonest about anything...turn off your black and white blinders...

yes you are-we have been over this before-you get bored, and you start spewing anti gun nonsense here, to stir stuff up. IN a week or less, you will be arguing against someone who raises the same anti gun garbage that you have done here.

That is why I said that you should take off your black and white blinders... there is more going on than some mere imagined Trolling...
