Accountability

...so can you acknowledge that you understand how I, or anyone else, for that matter, would conclude that you and those like you, are not bothered at all that innocent people and kids are killed by guns and gun owners?

Most gun owners don't kill innocent people and kids.

Of course I'm bothered by it.

But not enough to violate the rights of millions of people, in the vain hope that doing so will save the lives of 10, a 100, not even 1,000 kids lives per year.

Ruthless calculus applies.
It would save the lives of zero kids a year.

Gun owners need to be reeled in. Their "right" to own guns without accountability has gone on long enough. This is the beginning of a reasonable and fair list, but it is certainly not complete. Help me reel in these loose canons, gun owners, who do not seem to care about much besides their guns.

Automatic registration of weapon upon purchase

Failure to register your existing weapon = loss of weapon.
Failure to pass a gun safety course = loss of weapon or blocked access to buying said weapon
Failure to have a weapon owner list (history of owners for specific weapon) = loss of weapon
Misplacement or lack of knowledge of location of weapon upon re-registration = loss of weapon

That is a good idea too... gun safety course every five years... don't pass = loss of weapon

This is actual accountability and very reasonable. The problem is that gun nuts have been allowed unfettered access to killing devices with no accountability for far too long... they are now arrogant, hostile and defensive... a really bad combination for people of guns to have.

We have a Second Amendment and should have no security problems in our free States.

Don't grab guns, grab gun lovers and regulate them well!

as usual, this nonsense makes no sense.

Most gun owners don't kill innocent people and kids.

I don't care what most gun owners do... I care that too many gun owners are doing it...

Nope Im from the USA, I just don't say it on my profile. You, on the other hand, like to be deceptive with your profile, saying you're from one place on your profile and then saying you're from somewhere else on the message board.

How is my location being New Zealand deceptive to where I was born? How is it in Nowhere?

I agree. In which case the problem is those who kill innocent people not guns.

they would not be doing it without guns... mass shootings are new... executing people is done with guns, not Samurai.

It would save the lives of zero kids a year.

Stricter guns laws, etc. would not save any kids.? That is some serious dishonesty...

It's against DP rules to call somebody a troll. So I won't. But I'd like to....

Are you saying that we should love the hate out of gun owners by grabbing and "regulating" them?

Who do you think is being a Troll?

I agree that too many gun owners are doing it but the fact of the matter is that far less than one percent of the gun owners in the USA ever shoot innocent people.
Ideally it should be zero gun owners who shoot innocent people, but I will say this much, there are zero law abiding gun owners that shoot innocent people.

How is my location being New Zealand deceptive to where I was born? How is it in Nowhere?
Well if you were born in Oregon and you now live in New Zealand than no doubt you've renounced your USA citizenship, and at the time you did that how things are done in the USA became none of your business.

they would not be doing it without guns... mass shootings are new... executing people is done with guns, not Samurai.
Without guns mass killers would just find other ways to do it. The worst mass killing in USA history was done with box cutters and airplanes, there were no guns.

Stricter guns laws, etc. would not save any kids.? That is some serious dishonesty...
No, stricter enforcement of laws that say you can't kill innocent people, that would save kids and innocent grown ups too.

Tracking guns, who owns them, if the owner is competent, etc.

Neither of which would have any impact on gun violence. At most it would be a little easier to confiscate or for a The sale of guns by those who become ineligible. But that's not reason enough to justify it.

Many of us think it is justification enough and that it will save lives.

1. I love that gun owner logic. That there are zero law-abiding gun owners shoot innocent people. Lol. It is a neat way to counter the point that I made that all gun owners our law abiding and good gun owners until they start shooting people. It is any way to keep a perfect law-abiding gun owner record but unfortunately it is logically flawed and inaccurate.

2. Why would I renounce my US citizenship... instead I became a dual citizen.

3. Red herring. That is a logical fallacy...

4. Logically f l a w e d. Laws do not stop criminals. That is the entire Point. Something needs to be done prior to the criminal gun owner shooting people. That is why stricter gun regulations background checks a yearly checks etcetera are needed

Criminals do not follow stricter regulations, so what's the point?

I remember you debating much more coherently before in all honesty . that is why I think are trolling.

Uh huh.

So...

Is it the what or the how?

Seems to me, you're avoiding it.

Have I thus far avoided anything from you?

When did Bodhi become such a liberal?

Oh look, ANOTHER guy from New Zealand who thinks he knows what gun policies the world should follow.

the sad thing is-he doesn't even support the stuff he is posting now. He gets bored and tries to stir things up on the gun forum.
