YAY!! Walmart steps up!

If that's why Walmart took these steps then thank God for it. You people on the right only want to sell more guns to more people which is a totally idiotic suggestion.

they are slurping the anti gun scum and it will hurt them. Dicks took a huge hit for its idiocy

You seem to cheering on mass shooters.

actually, the only people who do that, are the hard core ban leaders who see a few deaths as a useful tool to advance their disarmament agenda

I think Walmart will survive and they know their bottom line better than you, I'm sure of that.

Actually it is more about profiting off death and destruction. Sometimes I wonder how gun dealers can live with themselves.

you ask the same thing of distilleries, pharmacies and car makers?

Where have I done that?

Post number?

Support or retract.

A gun banner lying about what another poster said? tell me its not so!. You never made any comment that could remotely be HONESTLY interpreted that way

It's all about PC virtue signalling. IOW, hollow gestures which infringe upon our liberty all while providing the illusion of safety.

Walmart stopping selling certain guns is infringing upon our liberty?

Dicks was a sporting goods store. I doubt Walmart is going to take a hit for not selling weapons. I don't know of too many outdoorsman going, "Well I think I'll go to Walmart to pick up some milk, bread, eggs and rifles.".

You made accusation.

He lied. He won't back it up/

Move on

They appear to be selling guns, just not AR or AK style guns with large ammo mags. I am sure that shotguns, handguns and traditional hunting rifles will still be available for purchase
Ok, that may be true; I heard that they'd stopped selling long guns entirely.

HTF does advocating for any measure of gun control = cheering for mass shooters???

Not complete stoppage evidently:

Walmart, the largest retailer in the U.S., announced it will stop selling guns and ammunition to anyone under 21. The decision comes on the same day that Dick's Sporting Goods said it would stop selling military-style semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines, as well as guns to anyone under 21.
Walmart Announces It Will No Longer Sell Guns, Ammunition To Anyone Under 21 : NPR

If you are 21 or older you can still purchase there, I have never seen a military-style semi-automatic rifle or a high-capacity magazine for such at Wal-Mart.

The irony of the Left who used to sneer at Walmart as being the home of smelly Trump supporters, bubbas and clinging rednecks, now is all rah-rah Walmart because they are placating their side with pleasing but ultimately meaningless gestures.

Uh rednecks aren't in charge of Walmart.

I agree. and during the 22 shortage Walmart was worthless because they allow their employees to buy stuff before it hits the shelves. Walmart employees were among the worst in stoking the 22 gouging scourge because lots of people who are casual shooters buy 22 ammo from Walmart I was in San Diego for Jr World Archery trials when the 22 shortage was in full swing and we stopped by a Walmart on our way to the USOTC at Chula Vista to get some sun screen early in the morning. We got there a few minutes before the delivery truck arrived and there was a line of people by the gun counter. Well there was no 22 because the employees bought it. when I returned to my office a few days later, I talked to one of the ATF agents. There were stories that the government was conspiring to choke off ammo to the public. The ATF agent-who I knew well-noted that Walmart employees would buy the ammo-then take it to gun shows and sell it for inflated prices. Because the public could not find it at Walmart they'd panic and pay inflated prices. And he said that Walmart was the main culprit of this gouging due to their policies of letting their employees buy the stuff before it hit the shelves

well when you want to create gun free zones and disarm honest citizens, you are helping mass shooters kill more people. When you advocate worthless measures and pretend they will help with that problem and lots of energy is expended concerning worthless measures, you have helped mass killers. But I am merely asserting that the really hard core gun banners do welcome tragedies involving guns because such tragedies seem to be the impetus for most gun banning laws being passed and we know that hard core lefties are -throughout history, willing to see some blood shed in order to advance their nefarious goals

Considering that the last 2 mass shooting events had multiple other armed people that did not stop the killer this is an asinine position to hold. There is simply no one in the anti-gun movement who wants people to get killed. That is the point! It's comments like this that makes me think right wing gun bators want civil war b/c they love their guns so much they are not satisfied with only shooting targets or animals...

So an empty gesture was chosen.

Got it.

Actually it was a business decision on their part. They decided that the squeakiest wheel were those wanting Walmart to do something about it.

Just like when Nike endorsed Kaepernick. The decided that those who support Kaepernick would be the ones buying the most versus the ones that didn't support Kaepernick.

In the end, it's all about optics and choices. In the end, Walmart made the best decision they could. The choice to either piss off gun enthusiasts or piss off those that wanted Walmart to do something. They chose the former and I doubt they will take a hit for it.

you ask the same thing of distilleries, pharmacies and car makers?

No not really. They do not sell machines who's design purpose is to sow death and destruction.... except maybe the Oxycontin makers. They should be in jail for murder.

I think the CEO of Dicks made the same claim a while back. How'd that work out? My family used to spend several grand a year at Dicks. I got most of my workout stuff and tennis shoes there, my wife used to buy rain gear for herself and some of her archery students there, and my son-a hard core fisherman, bought lots of lures and had his reels refilled with line at the nearby Dicks. Haven't been back in a couple years.

credible proof required for that.

It is you gun banners who want to start a civil war-and you all will be hoping other people with guns carry out your wet dreams of gun owners being attacked by government agents

Neither do gun makers who sell to the public. You are confusing sporting firearms with military bombers and artillery

It's a good thing for the gun shops. A bad thing the gun buying public.

An empty gesture to satisfy those who think the gun or the "clip" is the problem.
