Do you feel safer Now?

Lots of laws, regulations, screening, licensing, and registration when it comes to cars.

Are you saying guns are safer than cars?

Guns are absolutely safer than cars.

I am wrong. I said cars kill three times more people that guns, when in facts, it's over three times more.

Gun deaths gun deaths gun deaths. Lol

You get so much wrong. Lol

That ok then - a mere 14680! Nothing to see here....

Not sure you can discern a trend from two points, let’s see how it compares over the last 20 years...

All of that information is out there, you said deaths were increasing. You didn't back that up with anything. I showed you a couple of numbers. Last site I looked at went from 50s to 2012 and was pretty stagnant with a slight decrease since the 90s. Look it up then get back to me

My point was in that quote.

Is approx 14000 gun related murders per year acceptable for a supposedly advanced nation?

its a bit lower but the vast majority of those involved those with criminal records, killing others with criminal records.

I think the US crime numbers are a bit high for a first world nation, I generally attribute the problems to our poverty level and corruption in government. I am on the bandwagon of increasing prison times for using a gun in any crime. I wonder if that would help solve some of the problem? Kill someone you get 15-25 years out early for good behavior, kill someone with a gun tack on 15 years of no parole consideration.

Double your taxes to pay for it

The idea that guns do not require training is absolutely ridiculous. It should be mandated by federal law

Well.. other than the fact show there is no need for a federal mandate.

And fewer people yet die by brain cancer. Does that mean we should just do nothing about it?

Besides, we have laws and regulations about cars. Why wouldn’t we do the same with other dangerous equipment like guns?

We have laws regarding firearms.

In excess of what we have with cars by the way.

Yes there is

Nope.

Gun sales skyrocketed over the last decade or so. Accidents dropped to an all time low and are hovering there.

IF what you said were true.. the skyrocketing of gun sales.. should have also been correlated with a dramatic increase in gun accidents (what firearms training is designed to stop).

Sorry.. facts do not support your premise. Have a nice day vegas.

Guns are not self explanatory

Guns are not self explanatory

The fact remains.. that while gun sales skyrocketed over the last decade or so.. accidents dropped to an all time low and are hovering there.

IF what you say is true.. that there is a need for a federal mandate on gun training... then when gun sales skyrocketed (as did the number of first time buyers I believe)..then accidents should have skyrocketed.

But the statistics don't lie. Accidents actually went down.

But I will hear you out. Please explain your logic behind mandating federal firearms training. When gun sales went up.. and accidents went down. Please explain logically why that signals a need for mandatory gun training.

Wait.. are you one of the guys that claims we need to have "voter ID"..to stop "voter fraud"... when study after study shows that there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud? I bet you are..

Accidents have little to do with the reason for training

Interesting. Wow.. that's really interesting.

So what purpose do you see for the reason for training.. if not to stop accidents?? .

Please explain your logic here.

Yes.. it is interesting that you just stated that preventing accidents was not the reason for gun training.

Because that's exactly what gun training is for. Unless... you are advocating for gun training.. as a means of trying to disenfranchise people from their rights.

Just as voter ID proponents are really not interested in stopping fraud.. but in trying to disenfranchise minority voters.

So sir..

What purpose do you see for the reason for firearms training.. if not to stop accidents... please explain your logic here.
