Do you feel safer Now?

I see you can’t explain the logic either...
Your comparison is not logical. It isnt logical to compare a ban on items given to small children to a firearm.

A simple and direct question was asked. Do you think Kinder Eggs should have been banned?

Nope. Your turn.

Nor do I, because statically there have only been 10 deaths worldwide through choking on the contents on a kinder egg. Each and every one of those deaths was tragic, but on a global scale, and in terms of statistics, I would say it is no more risky than many other choking hazards for toddlers.

So why has the US banned them, given the relatively low statistical risk.

Because guns are a religion here

Bingo. And we agree. According their site they sell 3.5 B I L L I O N eggs a YEAR...and if it is to believed there has been a minuscule number of deaths. Im not a huge fan of banning things for stupid reasons. That certainly seems to fit the bill. So dies banning an item that 120 million law abiding citizens have access to and 12-15 million citizens use responsibly, because 2-3 people a year use them irresponsibly.

People get tested to get a driver's license. And there are all sorts of laws for what vehicles are considered street legal.

That's also true of carry licensing in many states, and regarding what kinds of guns people are currently allowed to own.

Any crazy nutjob can pack heat with no testing or background check, and there seem to be no limits on what kind of crazy thing they can haul around anywhere they like.

Totally false.

All potentially dangerous tools/equipment need proper training, licensing, screening, and regulation. Guns are not safer than cars.

Also not true. Guns are a lot safer than cars, as evidenced by they data on accidental deaths involving both.

Armed Man Who Caused Panic at Missouri Walmart Said It Was 2nd Amendment Test, Authorities Say - The New York Times

For over 30 years the NRA and gun advocates have told us we will be safer with more guns out there and fewer places that guns are not allowed. The estimate is that we have over 300 million guns out there and there are fewer places you can not carry. In fact Texas has one of the laws that allow carry almost everywhere and yet the shooting in El Paso took place. Not only that but there are people who were interviewed who said they were carrying, but they like everyone else fled the shooting. There are even people who are so gun nuts that they are willing after what happened in the El Paso Walmart, to go into another Walmart carrying weapons similar to the El Paso shooter to prove their 2nd Amendment rights. See the article above. Needless to say there was a panic. So my question to you, as the number of mass shootings grow to record numbers, do all of these guns and laws make you feel safer?

Yes. They more the ownership of guns has increased the more the Murder rate has decreased. I don't think these things are related. But one thing is for sure there isn't an increase in violent crime that goes along with the increase of gun ownership.

Feeling safe or otherwise isn't really relevant.

Who are you to tell us that?

Somalia has some war zones with pretty nonrestrictive gun laws. People use their guns very frequently there to defend themselves. Why don't you move there? I'm sure you will have plenty of chances to use your guns defensively and so will feel very safe.

Comparing the USA with Somalia=bankrupt argument. Cannot be taken seriously.

Honolulu has its own ****hole problems to deal with. Its level of ice addiction and homelessness has doubled in 6 years.
"A 16-year-old male was charged Monday with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Sgt. William H. Brown, a 23-year-old Kaneohe-based Marine who was stabbed multiple times. Police said Brown was with a group of people at about 1 a.m. Saturday at the corner of Royal Hawaiian and Kalakaua avenues when a verbal exchange escalated into an altercation.

A 21-year-old man and 15-year-old girl were initially arrested along with the 16-year-old on suspicion of second-degree murder, but have been released pending investigation.

Police are still investigating the Oct. 6 attack on a 21-year-old Schofield Barracks soldier who was beaten with a baseball bat and stabbed repeatedly. A 14-year-old boy was charged with second-degree assault in connection with the attack, which happened near the intersection of Lewers Street and Kalakaua Avenue in the wee morning hours.

Jordan Smith, 18, was charged last month with second-degree murder in the death of Maleko “Mac” Remlinger. He was also charged with one count of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of second-degree attempted murder and four firearm offenses.

Remlinger was killed Sept. 16 and two others injured when Smith allegedly used a rifle to shoot into a crowd outside Club Alley Cat. "

"The number of Waikiki slayings is considered low compared with other urban destinations; however, Honolulu Police Department spokeswoman Michelle Yu said it’s “extremely high” for Waikiki, and for Oahu, which typically has fewer than a dozen murders a year. This year’s Waikiki 10-month murder count already has surpassed all of the Waikiki murders that occurred in 2015 and 2016."

Its just a matter of time before that rat infested leftist ****hole is rivaling every other rat infested rat run ****hole.

Speaking of which.... what has Trump done for the opioid crisis in Trump country?

No restrictive gun laws and lots of defensive uses of firearms... what’s not to love about Somalia? We may not be there yet, but isn’t that the model you are working towards here? How’s your model and ideal different? More white people?:lamo

Left-winger losing argument badly-throws the race card. Now who could see that coming?

Being in the wrong does you absolutely not good if you're dead...

That may be so, but he would still be completely within his rights to walk around as such. The police officer who shoots him however would pay their price as well.

But if what has happened in the US to date, the policeman would walk away unscathed while your friend with the gun would be dead.

Firstly, he's not my friend. Secondly, he's completely in his right to walk around geared up as such, and having not actually committed a crime. The officer would most likely face some form of disciplinary actions, or even be released from his position.

Lax gun laws equal high gun deaths

and yet more people are injured by cars than guns....

But mass shootings aren’t the whole picture, 14,000 gun homicides per year in the US - and rising significantly.

2018 had 14,680 2017 had 15680. seems to be decreasing actually....

And people spend trillions of more hours around cars

yes and the injury rate reflects that, 4.5 million people seriously injured in car accidents last year. people get more training with cars than with guns, they get more and cheaper practice, and yet guns are still statistically safer than cars.

The person I quoted said the opposite.

Basic math would tell you if they were equally dangerous many many many more people would be killed and injured by cars. Only a third of Americans own guns and very very few use them every day. Some Americans never use a gun in their life. Everyone is in cars every day for hours.

Its basic math

Which would account for the 100x more people being injured in them. to try and say they are not comparable is inaccurate.

My point to the other poster was that you are more likely to be injured or killed by a car than a gun.

Only because you are around cars so much much much more. If we all used guns everyday gun deaths would sky rocket to much higher than car deaths

and yet more people are injured by cars than guns....

And fewer people yet die by brain cancer. Does that mean we should just do nothing about it?

Besides, we have laws and regulations about cars. Why wouldn’t we do the same with other dangerous equipment like guns?

Lots of laws, regulations, screening, licensing, and registration when it comes to cars.

Are you saying guns are safer than cars?

That ok then - a mere 14680! Nothing to see here....

Not sure you can discern a trend from two points, let’s see how it compares over the last 20 years...

Been the impetus for a lot of deranged idiot leftists to take up the habit.
